I quit reading any of his threads after his second post. I figure there must be some here who enjoy what he has to say. When he gets no replies he will leave on his own accord.

The threads are kinda interesting after putting him on Ignore, so you don't have to stumble through all that chaos and contradiction.

But it's a waste of time to read his part of the threads.

We have a few heavy duty theologians here. Why isn't anybody challenging his orthodoxy, showing him how he is risking his soul with his unapproved interpretations; demanding he repent?

when I saw this my first thought was "WHO?"
then I went looking for posts and realized the batch of crackpot sounding titles I'd seen recently were all by this guy -- and I never bothered opening any of them, because the "hover summary" didn't sound like much fun to read.
I don't see a need to ban him because he doesn't seem malicious at this point.
if he starts targeting individuals on the forum in a nasty way, then maybe - but until then I don't have to look at his posts so I don't see his version of reality affecting me any -- or changing the way I think about those of you I do trade comments with and like what I know about so far here on the forum.

PG - if this is the same person who caused you problems on another forum, I don't have anything to say other than you should trust that here I (we?) already know enough about you and trust you enough not to let his line of BS get in the way of how you're thought of. :respect:

Well, he's really been on a wacky tabacky rampage lately jumping all over the board with his posts ranging from using scripture to support his theories on magnatimabobubmum and is still trying to prove that Jesus was a mattress salesman. He's also using scripture to provide support for getting high. I've stomached just about enough BS and won't be reading anymore of his posts since I have also joined the list of those who have him blocked. I'm just waiting for him to come up with some scripture that he can twist around to support things like rape and murder. Then I'll know he's really gone bonkers!

My condolences/congratulations to you as I believe you're one of the few that actually reads his posts.

If I may propose, everyone should ignore him and his posts. When members reply, it fuels his fire. If we all ignore him, he'll probably go away.

I will be the first to admit that I have a hard time finding the willpower to do so. If it is the choice of the masses I will do so. I have iggied him already though so I only read random posts I choose to view....

No. I can't figure out why he should be banned. Did he break any of the rules he agreed too when he signed up? If so, yes. If not,no.

If I remeber - you can use the "ignore" thing on him. Lol...

.. which I am guilty of..
I had him on ignore for like 4 hrs, then couldn't help but read more of his ridiculous ramblings, then try and argue them.
No more, even though it's been amusing for me (and for some others lol)

His crap is now getting way out there, worse each time he comes up with yet another topic to add a scripture based back up to.

Banned?
I don't like to see anyone banned from a forum.
As for myself.. yes.. he now goes on ignore PERMANENTLY.
Perhaps if he logs in and finds NO ONE replying, he'll go find someplace else to seek the attention he so badly feeds off of.

Are you kidding? He's carrying the whole place. There are 400 posts, 4,000 views in his magnet thread plus whatever the JesusBed thread has drawn. For comparison, that's out of 160,000 total posts since the beginning of FF!

We all enjoy participating here but it's also in Doc's interest to grow the number of posts, and posters, so he can make the place self supporting. AJ's is Doc's biggest asset, right up there with Bob what-his-name.

Who cares if AJ makes any sense. You can hardly apply that criterion, when so much here is dubious at best. Like I said on the first page of his JesusBed thread:

You made this stuff up, right?

Well you've come to the right place! :D

But I don't read his stuff unless somebody quotes him. The replies are more interesting (and likely, rational) than what AJ may have said.

Is anybody keeping track of where else he posts the same nonsense? Has anyone seen notable replies worth quoting here?

Nope, from what I have read, there is nothing he says that is worth tracking down to read. I have just blocked him and only read the replies from others in the forum... much more entertaining!

Too many of you are having 'fun' getting worked up over and replying to his posts to have him banned.

I have to admit that I had fun baiting him with my bogus post about Earths magnetic field. :yum:

I'm not going to any longer.
Told ya I was going to be a good girl, Bobcat..:brows: :brows: ;)

wonder if I am next on the block...............

Danny... why in the hell would you think that? I know may still be a shock, but we actually LIKE you. We rarely agree with you, but there is nothing wrong with not seeing eye to eye.

I haven't put him on the iggy list, but I just don't read the threads he started. I have no idea what he's been up to and what you've replied with and that's fine with me.

OK. I think I am ready to change my vote now. I looked at a few of his recent posts in the magnet bs thread. I would consider all of his recent posts spam as he is no longer trying to interact in his posts. I was OK with it while he acknowledged others, but I think it's time to pull the plug now.

When people come here and read his crap, do you want them to think that AEJ represents the general population here?

I must agree .....when joining a Forum it's to become apart of the community and to share your thoughts and ideas....even though he is not causing any harm he is in no way making a contribution to the Forum....just cluttering it up with mindless posts.

I have done a google on AlaneJackson and to be honest he is the same wherever he goes and all he seems to want is people to go to his site to check out his mindless theories.

I don't think his posts would be as bad if he was to at least have the decency to reply to the members that have an honest question or opinion on what he is posting.....i think his long term objective is to stir people up and to see how many Forums he can get banned from....and if this is the case i feel we should assist him in his quest.

Whenever I've posted any type of serious intellectual challenge or response to him and asked him a question he has ignored me completely. As a matter of fact, he likely has me on his ignore list. He seems very much intimidated when someone uses numerous references from established and accepted ideas from authors, scientists, academics including concepts and theories, then asks him to respond as to why his thoughts do not conform to any logical or relevant concept, he cannot respond. He only cuts and pastes from other past posts that may, or may not, be relevant.

Because of this lack of his willingness to actually discuss anything, as of late I've only poked fun at him, chided him, and generally mocked him.

Starting to aggree with Kimi....

I like that "Chattahoochee" song, it's a shame he went off the deep end. :rolf2:

Keep him for entertainment value.

I agreed until he stopped acknowledging others. It's funny that Foggy used the term "community." That is the exact word that my wife used last night as we were talking about the forum and her introduction thread. She blogs on FoxSports all the time and noted how different we are from them. I am from a small town and this is like my other small town.. Does the town really need a crazy cat lady?

Let's answer some questions first;
Has he broken any forum rules?
Has he made personal attacks on any forum member or administration?
Has he spammed anyone's email or pm box with his stuff?
If the answer to the above is "no", then I say do not ban.
Here's why;
When we begin banning folks just because they annoy us, we open a can of worms that, most likely, will spell the demise of yet another internet site. Soon, in order to appease folks, forum administrators will find themselves in the uncomfortable position of banning folks who other folks find annoying, only to find that still other folks liked the now-banned member, which can result in all out war!
Use the ignore button, skip right over his stuff, do whatever you must to ignore this pest, but do not ban.
JMHO

I agree, I dont know what he is talking about, but i dont think he does either. He is harmless and easy to ignore. Obviously he enjoys it. Dont ban him.......yet.

I agree. I interacted with him early on and quickly realized that he was a nut job. Then I hit the ignore button for the first time ever.

He hasn't broken any rules or made threats etc... so we would be censoring his opinions. Thats not what makes this site great.
