Where would you go on vacation?

We're heading out July 8th for 3 weeks hauling to fifth wheel camper to Fort st John British Columbia. We'll be spending a few days in Drumheller Alberta.

Took the kids to Drumheller a couple years ago, really neat place to see. If you have time there's an old mining town close by that has an old restaurant, that was a pretty neat place to visit and eat at. Take lots of money, nothing is cheap there! Lol
If you're taking the transcanada through Manitoba you'll be about an hour south of me when you go through Brandon.

Oh and take good shoes if you plan on climbing the Hoodoos, I seen people climbing them in sandals and flip flops, one guy was about 300 pounds coming down in sandals and was half out of control, not sure how many people get hurt there in a year, but it would be people like him.

I totally get where you're all coming from. Long-haul flights are just exhausting — anything over 10 hours and I start questioning my life choices midair! Dubai sounds fascinating, but yeah, with the current restrictions and the heat, it might not be the most relaxing choice right now. Honestly, I've been leaning toward something closer to home too — maybe a scenic road trip through the Pacific Northwest or a few quiet days in the Smoky Mountains. A comfortable drive, cool weather, and no jet lag sounds just right these days.

The Inca Trail - Peru

I want to do a week's trek and want to see the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu. I heard the most popular trek is about 4-day Classic Inca Trail. Looks wonderful in pictures and documentaries.

A friend of mine did that trail.

He said it was amazing and beautiful.

I want to do the Trail of 88 Temples in Japan. It is a UNESCO world heritage trail.

My eldest Granddaughter Kasey and her friend are moving to Oregon before long.
Guess I'll be booking a flight there sooner or later.

Honestly, I’ve always dreamed of a road trip through the Rockies—just cruising along mountain passes, stopping at lookout points, and breathing in all that fresh air. Something about letting the road guide you, with no rush and no fixed agenda, feels incredibly freeing. I remember a trip where our group decided to rent a coach BCS Bus—it made the whole journey so much more fun: everyone chatting, sharing snacks, and stopping where the views called us. The ride itself becomes part of the adventure, not just the destination. That’s exactly the kind of vacation I’d pick—where the drive, the company, and the landscapes all come together into one unforgettable experience.

I love traveling everywhere. The Wife and I have done extensive travel all our married life.
I would do the Caribbean again. On a bareboat sailing cruise. Snorkeling off of Moreau or Palm Island
But;;;;;;
If I had to choose a favorite place, it is on the couch with my head in her lap.

I love traveling everywhere.
Me too. We've visited 15 States this year. Also did drive through of another 7 States.
I've now completed visits to 47 States. Will do the last 3 in the next year or two. The Mrs. only has 38 States done so we'll do some more trips so she can see the last 12.

I work 56 hours a week, 52 weeks a year. (Minus holidays).

..... The only place I want to be when I have a day (or more) off..... is my back yard, or my bedroom.

Traveling is too much like work.

I never added them up. However, I believe I have been in every state but Hawaii at least once.
Crumpy was not with me on my marathon trip to Tacoma-Seattle to deliver a machine for wrapping fruit pies. I went through Montana, the Dakotas, Wyoming and Idaho. She missed those.

I did that too for decades.
Retired and freed up a lot of time so traveling while I can (before I get too old to do it).
Don't get me wrong, my favorite places are my acreage and my bedroom.
The Mrs. & I traveled all over but we've yet to find a spot we like better than what we have now.

I just did a little math.
This year, I've put about 7,000 miles on rental cars cruising around the USA.
I've only put 1,000 miles on my personal vehicles, half of which was traveling to visit out-of-state relatives.

The lovely missus and I are traveling to southern Ontario next weekend for 4 days. Other than that, we have no real travel plans as we plan on sticking closer to home next summer while we save up for our next big rv trip with the fifth wheel camper in two years when we hope to travel to the east coast. That will be at least a 3 week trip.

For me, i find Turkey is a great option, and and for someone who may travel for food, i love turkish breakfast,

Speaking in current place i work in now, Riyadh capital in Saudi Arabia, i noticed recently more tourists are visiting, especially the historic sites, the city become attraction to many arabian countries around it, so you expect yo see a great diversity of arabian nationalities comparing to other arabian countries, and now they are working on more entertainment sites, full of shows of all kinds, i was born here and its shocking to me how much the country evolved in the past years

When summer heat hit the capital, which is my worst time living here, many of my locals love to go to southern area of Saudi Arabia, an area, full of high mountains covered by trees and always cold, i always had this image saudi arabia main landscape is big areas of deserts, but when i visited the southern area it shocked me greatly with its greenery beauty, so yah that is an interesting place to hit

some years ago i had a chance to work NYC in US, it was one week for work, it was so great, especially America pizza, the way is done there is the better than any american pizza i ever trued in other places, even though we have pizza hut here, it is never the same, so i might take long flight to US for just that :D …oh…and pancakes, man i love pancakes

Hard to pick just one, but lately I’ve been really drawn to the idea of a deep wilderness trip in Alaska—Denali National Park and the Matanuska Glacier area are right at the top of my list. There’s something about the vastness and the quiet up there that’s really appealing compared to more 'touristy' spots. How about you guys? Are you more into mountain adventure or looking for a relaxing beach escape?

How interesting, seems you are into hiking maybe meditation?

For me i LOVE meditation but (within the chaos), so i like to sit in places with too many people partying, crowd parades, i crave for quite nature scenes but i enjoy more the busy life as outside spectator, meditation from the center of chaos, inspire me with alot of ideas and meanings

It's nice to get away but you know what else is nice? This morning, I walked out on my deck. Birds chirping. Wind whistling in the trees. The only other sound was the occasional vehicle passing by on our country road. Our property is surrounded by trees. Private. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The city is a 15 minute drive away to anything I need. There's a dirt track 5 minutes from my house. I can't complain.
