What's your favorite car?

epic

New member
I'll start.

My favorite car is the 1936 540k Special Roadster, by Mercedes.

Though I am more of a Ford type of person, I guess this would be my special exclusion.

Maybe an old birdcage Maserati?

Always was a fan of the late 70's Aston Martin V8.

Or an Avanti, but I owned one of those, it was pretty awesome.

Tough question.

I have a few favorites (but do not own any of the cars I've posted).

I love the 63 Corvette ...

I think I would add the Auburn Boattail Speedster and the Cord Models 810/812 to my list of most beautiful automobiles. Now my list includes only production vehicles.

There were many very limited and coach built vehicles that are amazingly beautiful and could be added to the list as well, but I am sticking with production cars.

I have a '68 Ford Galaxy 500 convertible that I want to finish restoring. Candy apple red with a blacktop and interior. The rear window is glass.

screw cars give me a jeep vintage dodge powerwagon or an m35 duce, But if I had to have a car any big block Chrysler would do just fine for me. I just want a gas station to go with it.

cavalier. cheap, 'lil, cute, & my 1st of 2 rides. if i was rich, i may switch to vintage rides. after i pay my student loans. one issue- i'm not rich enough. maybe after i open a restaurant or 5.

Jaguar XK120 convertible, candy apple red and chromed out.

I almost bought it. I was in college working on my masters and thought that I had better hold on to my money, especially since it was on the cards that I'd be moving to the States fairly soon. Also, had no place to garage it and the thought of leaving that beauty sitting at the curb outside our apartment in central London would have broken my heart.

Not buying that car is one of the few regrets that I have in my life.

Nice Jag indeed. I just had to snag some pics to post here.

What color did you want Frank?

That's her Doc only "mine" had chrome wire stone guard covers over the headlights and a leather strap across the bonnet (hood). I don't know why. It was the most beautiful car I've ever seen.

As I said not buying it was one of the few regrets of my life. I should have just slapped the cash down. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be sensible and logical.

I have started looking around for a project car though. We'll see if anything comes of it. Somehow I doubt it. I'm still sensible and logical, damn it!!! :yum:

I'm feeling nostalgic today. How about a nice country road and a '33 Pierce Arrow?

Well, being an incurable gearhead, I have a ton of them. However the vast majority of them I cannot and will not ever own due to finances.

At this time my favorite is the one I currently own outright and can afford. My beautiful 2005 Crossfire with 21K on the clock in impeccable condition. A Mercedes in American clothes. LOL.

First pick would be Roadrunner, although I liked the body style of the later '73/74 even though they had lost the perfromance. Ultimate though would be a Superbird(Daytona would do)...

Then the Lambo Muira

Those old Auburn's, Packards, and Cords would be high on the list too

I was influenced in the '70's by Movin On. I have always wanted a mid-70's KW W900 like Sonny Pruitt... A guy in NewJersey has one of the trucks from the show.

That's quite a collection, Doc. Quite a collection indeed.

Question: you've got a variety of wheels; are all of them OEM?

Beautiful automobiles.

I take it you like red.

Missed you Saturday at the "2nd Annual Crossfire Lunch at Deer Springs". Maybe next year?

Kane,
I apologize for my poor wording. I should have said " I have a few favorites but own none of these".
All are pics I found of my favorite model years on the internet. Sure wish I could just step out into the garage and take pics of them right there but that is not the case. As for liking red, a month ago I could honestly say I'd never owned a red vehicle. Not the case any longer as I own a red 4runner. Red is not my favorite color but that is what I found most on the internet.
