Probably just black coffee. I've been hitting the scotch a bit heavy of late.
I really need too with this injured hand. But, after the last few days of self-medicating, I need to hold off.
Maybe if I take two Liver Aids with it.

Good night all. I've paid the price forward for whatever I feel tomorrow morning. But I'm pain free for tonight. Yes, I overdid the yard work today, my hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders where screaming in pain earlier today. But damn if the bourbon drinks didn't resolve the pain. And I swear bourbon is better than Aleve, better than Advil. and better than either of the 2 different opioids that I am prescribed for my rheumatoid arthritis.
But bourbon seems to work better than either.
I dunno why.
I've got cheap bourbon. I've got rare and expensive bourbon. Both work better than the prescription pain killers.
Enjoy. Whiskey is king.

I'm drinking a non-alcoholic "whisky" that I bought from Meijer. I don't recall the brand name. It is not made by Meijer, but it is/was sold by them. It was also, at the time I bought it several months ago, sold by several on-line retailers.
I can tell you it cost more than a bottle of Makers Mark.
I can also report it is seriously awful. Sweet in a bad way. Thin on the palate. Very one dimensional.
Cannot recommend.

Well known that I am a bourbon drinker.
But I just poured 2 ounces of Isle of Raasay "The Dram" Hebridean Single Malt Scotch.
The bottle was a gift. It is a lightly peated scotch. Tastes pretty good, at 46.4% alcohol its pretty mild, but still has flavor, I have a couple other Scotches in the cabinet. This one would be my 2nd choice of the group. But I'm still not a scotch drinker. Not for sale in the US, but if it was, it would probably be about $75 a bottle. So not cheap but also not expensive.

I've never seen that one but there are so many whiskies these days, it is hard to keep track of them all.
My favorite Scotch is not imported into this country either. It's Glendronach 21-year old "Parliament". It is matured in old sherry casks. When we used to go across to Scotland, I used to get 3 bottles, one for me, one for my wife and one for my SIL. Of course, I confiscated their bottles as soon as we cleared customs. I have seen bootleg bottles for sale on the internet for $375 to $550. You can tell that it's special. I still have bottles of the 12, 15 and 18-year old but, alas, the 21-year old is all gone and may never be replaced. It did leave behind some fond memories though.

Today was supposed to be the hottest day of the week, but air temp is currently 90. Only 2pm so it might climb a bit more, we tend to hit peak heat about 3:30-4:30pm. But I suspect it will not be as bad as yesterday.
Yesterday we hit 100.
I'll probably have a nightcap at bedtime but it will be water until then.
Well, I'm day drinking. Gives me motivation and covers up all the pains. Doing a lot of things I shouldn't when it's 95 degrees but I'll stay in the shade.
Years ago I went to a company function at the Makers Mark distillery in Kentucky. All of us executives received a personalized bottle of MM with our names on it. It might be time to crack it open.
