What are you doing today, II

I'm having some much needed campfire therapy after a very successful performance this afternoon. I played and sang a variety of songs of all different genres for an hour and a half. I was just getting started when I felt a raindrop. The BBQ was almost over so I packed everything up and headed out to camp to fix a broken propane regulator.

Had 23 ton of stone delivered an hour ago. Almost 1/2 way done moving it. It's friggin hot and muggy. Just driving the tractor has me sweating.

Still at the work cabin for another week, got cold, it was only 56 today for the high, been having to use the heater here and there, rained last night with the wind blowing 30-50 mph.

92 and humid today.

I went out and weeded one of the flower beds that was getting over-run with clover. Then I planted 60 small shade loving annual flowers in the bed.

Hopped in the pool.

Hot dogs on the grill.

Now watching Sonic the Hedgehog with Kobe.

I'm back from my scout camp just in time for a severe thunderstorm watch with damaging winds forecast. The sky is an ominous grayish green. But thankfully the rain held off most of the weekend for us. 24 kids and 6 adults camping in tents at a provincial park for 2 nights. I'm tired despite actually sleeping ok each night.

Woke up to a severe thunderstorm passing through the area. Tornado warnings. The sky is green. Guess I'm not getting anything done outside this morning. It's supposed to be crazy hot again this afternoon. Tonight is the last scout meeting for the year until September.

Had a wonderful trip with an end stop at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Had a great time walking the trails with a visit to LaSalle Canyon waterfall. The park has 18 canyons most of which have waterfalls.

if you ever get to North Central PA Rickets Glenn SP has some awesome water falls

Overview

Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,193 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia counties.

Ricketts Glen harbors the Glens Natural Area -- a National Natural Landmark. Hike the Falls Trail System to explore the glens, which boasts a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, each cascading through rock-strewn clefts in this ancient hillside.

The 94-foot Ganoga Falls is the highest of 22 named waterfalls. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife add to the beauty.

I put new master cylinder in my grand sons trailblazer, then ran up to camp for lunch, came home to bleed lines not getting pressure on front brakes found a blown line that wasn't leaking before tried to bleed rear brakes THERE SHE BLOWS another line bad on the rear
went on line to get a complete set of lines 200$ great, napa had pieces for 600$. I went to order on line and 3 week lead time I'll wait for them he doesn't have a job to worry about it.

My wife went over to our other house where my mentally disabled BIL is staying. It was 88 degrees in the house. The A/C wasnt working.
I did my best to restore it but it needs pro help. :(
He'll be here in the AM.

Crumpy, Who the hell is that crabby, ugly, old man you are with? You could do soooooooooo much better.
And really, posting such pictures on the forum. hubby might notice!

Less pain today when I woke up than I've had in a week or two. 3 advil, but ZERO tramadol. Then I went out on the tractor with the little battery handheld chainsaw to do more clean up of the trees. In one trail there was a dead 4-5" diameter branch forming a bridge over the trail about 8 or 9 feet above the ground. Knocked it down with the FEL bucket and cut it into 5' lengths to haul away. Grabbed a bunch of other cuttings while I was there and took it to the new burn pile. I now have 2 burn piles.

Went down into the area we call the valley, it is the last area where I am cutting off the low hanging branches. Did plenty of cutting and hauling there, several more trips to the burn pile.

Property is looking much more maintained and manicured rather than its usual 'wild' appearance. Hard part is keeping it looking this way. Wanted to get all this done as we are supposed to be getting rain after lunch, so should be arriving here soon, but the sky is still pretty bright.

You have lots of acreage. We have a 1/3 acre city lot. I have the same desire and issues. Keeping it looking neat.
I can only imagine the volume of your efforts.

Sharpened the chain on my chain saw and proceeded to put it to work. Cut some more on a tree trunk I have been wanting to get rid of. Hauled the chunks to the side of the street for the landfill truck to pick up on his next pass by.

Capacitor quit on our house next door. Our older, mentally disabled BIL didn't mention the house was getting warm. We went over at around 5PM yesterday and the house was 88 degrees inside?!?!?. Our HVAC guy was here at 8AM this morning and got us up and running.

Moved some stone this afternoon. Too damn hot to do much else.

Got a 2AM wake-up call for tonight to take the Mrs to the airport for a vacation.

It's 95% F here with direct sun. So outside projects are limited. Nothing strenuous on tap.
Watering the gardens and planter pots of tomatoes seems to be possible for a while.
Cleared the patio so I could install a swimming pool for Madison.
OK, It's 48"in diameter, Blue ABS Plastic and cost $25.
All for which I have room and best I can do today.

It's hot here, high 90's F so I loafed a bit.
Watering the Tomatoes & Peppers was easy, just turn the valve on the sprinkler.
I then vacuumed the main floor& kitchen of the house. Bathrooms need it but....I hate doing them.

I need to get some Cantaloupe seed. That and cucumber I already have. I am setting up a container for them which, Hopefully, I can then move into the greenhouse for winter. Surprisingly, July is supposed to be a good month to plant Cantaloupe. If you live where enough summer
lasts for 5 more months. We have four more. But I plan to cheat with using the Greenhouse.
They both like a rich organic soil. So, rather than garden stuff or even potting soil,
I will be planting them in pure two year old compost.
