R rating for movies with smoking proposed

muleman

Gone But Not Forgotten
They want to slap an R rating on them so they don't influence kids. This PC and big brother stuff is getting absurd anymore.:hammer:

Yup, if you smoke cigarettes you get an automatic R rating but not if you smoke POT, then you still can have a PG rating. Our nation is really slipping into hell.

Simple explanation for it Mel. The liberals see cigarettes as evil and want to regulate and eliminate it. Pot, is socially acceptable and actually encouraged for use among the loonies. We slip further and further into looniedom.

When I was out in California in May I thought it was ironic that an advertisement on TV to ban all tobacco products by the Committee for a Tobacco Free California was immediately followed by another ad to vote for Proposition whatever it was to legalize marijuana. I remember thinking, "Man, we're really fucked up" and went down to the bar for a drink before somebody got the idea to ban that too.

Somehow I can't picture Casablanca with an R rating.

That would be criminal wouldn't it????

I just had a thought. What movie influenced kids in to sniffing bath salts and gasoline. I must have missed those at the theater. Maybe they went straight to video.

Doe's that mean that all the old reruns would be banned or somehow blocked? All the old shows, from Peter Gunn to Dick Van Dyck had people smoking in them.

Only adults can watch I Love Lucy...

Can you seriously imagine Abbott and Costello or The Three Stooges carrying an R rating?!
