Israel strikes Iran: Explosions in Tehran, sirens in Israel

Iran still has hundreds of missiles and Israel cannot find all their launchers . . .

some intense video of Iranian missiles hitting Tel Aviv

ZeroHedge is runing an ongoing blog, Trump does NOT want to join the war, but offers moral support, intelligence and supplies to Israel. Some say that if the Fordow uranium enrichment site is not destroyed then Israel's attack is a failure. I call BS to that. Israel is destroying the regime. After it falls, the Fordow site can be dismantled or destroyed. Israel has already bombed the access points, so vehicles, missiles, people can't really get in/out. That neutralizes it, at least for now.

Here is part of their coverage, see the link for updates>>>

Trump Rejects Netanyahu's Request To Join War, As Israel Needs Large US Bunker Buster Bombs

Latest updates (2015ET):

  • In the past 48 hours, Israel has asked the Trump administration to join its war effort, per Axios
  • Israel seeks help targeting & destroying the fortified Fordow uranium enrichment site
  • Axios says the Trump administration is so far rejecting the Israeli request
  • But if Fordow remains intact, Israel's mission to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program will be considered a failure
  • AJ: At least 80 people – including 20 children – have been killed in Iran and four in Israel, with hundreds wounded on both sides in the ongoing tit-for-tat attacks.
Axios underscores that "Israel lacks the bunker buster bombs and large bomber aircraft needed to destroy Iran's Fordow uranium enrichment site, which is built into a mountain and deep underground. The U.S. has both within flying distance of Iran."

Meanwhile, the images coming out of Iran show unprecedented and shocking scenes of oil refineries burning uncontrollably while nearby highway traffic has been forcibly stopped...

Al Jazeera, citing Iran's Tasnim news agency, reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted the country's defense ministry headquarters in Tehran on Saturday evening, causing minor damage to one of its buildings

“[A]n attack on Tehran this evening by the air force of the Zionist regime, the headquarters of the defence ministry was targeted. One of the headquarters’ buildings was lightly damaged,” the state news agency reports.

The Iranian government did not comment on the reported strike.

Additionally, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed its missiles and drones targeted fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centers in Israel, according to a statement reported by state media. The IRGC warned that its "offensive operations will continue more fiercely and widely" if Israel's actions persist.

The IDF has not confirmed the attack. . . .

Looks like the Ayatollah has a target on his head.

Khamenei in bunker in northeastern Tehran; Israel didn’t kill him Friday to give him chance to yield — report

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was evacuated to an underground bunker in northeastern Tehran hours after Israel began its strikes Friday, Iran International reports, citing two informed sources inside the country.
Khamenei is together with all of his family at the shelter in Lavizan, the sources say. He sought shelter in the bunker when Iran launched its attacks on Israel in April 2024 and October, too.
Additionally, Israel did not assassinate Khamenei on the first night of the operation to give him a final chance to completely ditch his uranium enrichment program, the outlet reports, citing a diplomatic source in the Middle East.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was moved to an underground bunker in Lavizan in northeastern Tehran hours after Israel began its attacks on Tehran early Friday, two informed sources inside Iran told Iran International.
All members of Khamenei's family including his son Mojtaba are with him, the sources said.
According to the sources, during the previous operations against Israel, True Promise 1 and True Promise 2, the Supreme Leader’s family was also taken to the bunker.
At that time, Mojtaba was by his side, but two of his sons, Masoud and Mostafa, were not with him.
Iran’s first direct attack on Israel, Operation True Promise 1, took place on April 13, 2024, and involved over 300 missiles and drones targeting military installations. The strike was in retaliation for the killing of two Iranian generals in Damascus.
Operation True Promise 2 followed on October 1, 2024, with approximately 200 missiles aimed at Israeli military facilities in response to the assassination of Iran-aligned militant leaders, including former Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
Warning to Khamenei
On Sunday, Israel targeted the city of Mashhad, located 2,300 kilometers from the Jewish State, for the first time.
A diplomatic source in the Middle East told Iran International that the Israeli airstrike on Mashhad was a warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader that he is not safe anywhere in the country. . .

According to Saudi Arabia, IRAN launched a drone strike intended to hit the US Consulate in IRAQ.

The drone was intercepted and destroyed. Not sure who shot down the drone.

It seems pretty clear right now that the MAIN OBJECTIVE of Israel at this stage is complete regime change in Iran.

Israel destroyed the Iranian army, navy and air force in addition to their missile defense and air defense systems.
Israel destroyed their economic engine by blowing up their main natural gas and oil field.
Israel destroyed the 2nd leg of their economic engine by blowing up their missile production facilities so they can't sell more missile to Russia, Pakistan, Yemen, etc
Israel KILLED their military leadership, all of them.
Israel destroyed the headquarters of the riot police, which enforce Sharia Law inside the country, and which are much hated by many Iranian citizens.

The military objective remaining is the Furdo/Furdow nuclear facility that is literally under a mountain. USA is the only nation on earth with the type of bombs needed to destroy that facility and we also have bombers large enough to actually carry those huge bombs. Nobody else, with the possible exception of Russia, has aircraft like that.

Israel is still searching for mobile missile launchers, which are used in nightly attacks against Israel's population centers. That is like a game of whack-a-mole as they can launch and them move/hide the launchers.

SO it is pretty clear, Israel wants to topple the mullahs religious government.

My thought is we wait until Iran's regime collapses.

After the Ayatollah is dead, or flees that nation, but not until their government collapses, then we can get involved in a very limited way.

The most involvement we need, a handful of our B52 bombers and a bunch of our largest bunker buster bombs. One after another, hit the Fordo nuclear site under the mountain. Same spot. Big bomb. Next bomber, same spot. Big bomb. Next bomber, same spot. Eventually the mountain will collapse on that bunker.

Israel can finish everything else. The world owes them a huge favor, but we don't want to get into a World War.

Or enter the facility and blow it up from the inside

Boots on the ground, entering one of the most fortified places on earth?

Risks are probably a lot higher to our troops than simply dropping a couple dozen bombs.

I would love to see this happen. But I do not believe we will take this action.

Trump told Iran that he expects "unconditional surrender" but IRAN's Ayatollah says 'no' to that.

Trump now says he has made a decision to attack Iran to support Israel. But we don't know what that mean. We don't know if that is air support only. We don't know if that is 'boots on the ground'. We don't know if that is WHATEVER is needed . . . but with a time limit (because Trump specifically has stated that he will not be involved in "forever" wars.

We simply know that our President has approved strikes, but is withholding permission to actually commit.

So it seems like a 'when' rather than an 'if'.

Right now is the time to take those assholes out forever and free the Iranian people and the world from those nuts. If we don’t and let them keep control with some deal they won’t honor, we will be right back here again in 3-5 years.

Did Israel just terminate the Ayatollah?

Iran reported that smoke is billowing in the Lavizan area of the capital Tehran as a result of an Israeli attack. Last Sunday, the 'Iran International' website reported from two knowledgeable sources in Iran that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei 'was moved to an underground bunker in Lavizan in northeast Tehran, hours after Israel began its attacks on Tehran on Friday morning.' According to the report, all members of Khamenei's family, including his son Mojtaba, are with him.

Also, apparently tourists don't visit Tehran during 'vacation' season in Iran. They flee to the countryside and leave all the roads vacant in the capital city. Or so says the propaganda media inside the theocratic dictatorship
