Israel strikes Iran: Explosions in Tehran, sirens in Israel

Let's get ready to rumble!

smackdown.gif

I would not doubt it if the behind the scenes power folks were pushing / encouraging Israel to act. We have heard the rumblings for years, that either the US or Israel would stop Iran from having nuclear capability.
My concern: Is this the start of WW III?

Some good news for sane people, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is reported to have been killed in one of the Israeli strikes.

It will be interesting to see what Hamas can muster out of Gaza, also interesting to watch Hezbollah to the north in Lebanon. What will Syria do, with its fractured nation and will they respond? Will Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia stay as "neutral" as possible, basically keeping their militaries at home and only using words? I suspect they all are secretly relieved that Iran is being 'neutered' but will, of course, make public statements against the strike.

My concern: Is this the start of WW III?

I hope/think the answer is no.

Russia, China, North Korea and Yemen are militarily on the side of Iran. There may be a few others, but mostly I think most nations militaries are opposed to Iran. They may 'voice' opposition to Israel, but I doubt major powers actually want to get involved. Russia has its own problems. North Korea may try but they are long distance allies of Iran and would be hard pressed to actually do much. China is the wild card, they just signed a trade deal with the USA, I think if that was still being negotiated they would be easier to quell, but now that it is signed, they may be more willing to consider something???

The uranium enrichment sites have been hit, apparently MULTIPLE TIMES, by Israel.

Understand that they don't have to destroy the actual centrifuges to stop the enrichment. Those have to be perfectly leveled, perfectly aligned and bombs that hit deep enough, adjacent to the sites, can knock them out of service for many months. So while we can hope that Israel destroyed them, the reality is they have, at very least, disrupted the process for now.

Also, Iran is now saying that a couple of key scientists have been killed.

And another wave of strikes have hit the Iranian nuclear sites.

On the down side, I'm seeing Oil Futures rising 10 to 12% right now. So expect higher prices at the gas pump tomorrow.

We did to Iran in 10 minutes what we did to Hezbollah in 10 days.

And apparently Mossad did some super secret spy stuff in advance to decommission the long range missile capabilities of Iran.

Israel says it will continue for days, as long as it takes. . . :punk:

Israel tells the Iranian people that their liberation from the oppression of the Ayatollahs and Mullahs of Iran is about to end.

And, of course, the communist party of the USA, er, um, I mean the Democrats here are pissed off . . .

I would not doubt it if the behind the scenes power folks were pushing / encouraging Israel to act. We have heard the rumblings for years, that either the US or Israel would stop Iran from having nuclear capability.

For those who don't remember, Iran has attacked Isreal with missile bombardments at least twice in recent months. This is a justified retaliation. Not sure if the leftwing media reported this but I know Fox did.
This may be about the Iranian nuke program.
More likely just a conventional hit back.
Isreal has every legal right to do so.
In point of fact, an obligation.

And the attacks from Israel just keep on happening.

Relentless.

Military chief killed. . .

Literally HUNDREDS of targets have been hit in, at least, 5 waves of attacks.

While some may claim they are 'shocked' by the aggression and condemnation will certainly be voiced, the reality is that many nations quietly are breathing a sigh of relief as Iran's military power is destroyed by Israel. I don't expect many nations to issue a giant public THANK YOU to Prime Minister Netanyahu, but my guess is that in the back channel communications there are parties and champaign corks popping right now.

Meanwhile Iran is threatening the USA.

Lone wolf and embedded terrorists are probably a bigger threat to us than Iran's military? Radicalized muslims can wreak a lot of havoc in local areas, can create fear, but very likely can't foment any movements beyond support from Antifa or BLM or real communists, all of which are fringe and don't have popular support.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, speaking for the majority:

But while politicians worry or talk or whatever they do, the reality on the ground is destruction.

And. . .

F35I stealth fighters were used to attack launchers and missiles.

Israel claims to have wiped out much of the primary military command and control capabilities. Including all of the top military leadership of their air force command. Including the heads of their various other military branches. Many of them we killed in their penthouses while they slept. The air force command was reportedly drawn into a meeting, which was then bombed, killing all the top commanders.

Israel expects 600 Iranian ballistic missiles to be launched against it, at least 100 have already been launched, 7 successfully hit Israel, all of which apparently landed in civilian areas of Tel Aviv.

Iran's Fordo nuclear site is now under attack. That site is buried HUNDREDS OF METERS DEEP under a mountain. Very likely Israel will use the playbook they developed and successfully used to kill Hezbollah commanders in underground bunkers. They simply came in with wave after wave after wave of very precise 'bunker buster' bombs, hitting the same target again and again, allowing the bunker buster bombs to penetrate deeper with each successive wave. Can they get down to the depths they need to reach the Fordo nuclear site? Doubtful, but they can destroy the mountain entrances to a point that the site becomes a tomb. And if they get all the access points it would be unlikely the site would be reachable in the future.

Iran and Israel just spoke at the United Nations, II watched part of Iran's bullshit comments and I watched all of Israel's rebuttal, which listed and showed evidence.

In a rare event, France's Macron actually spoke the truth, he stated that Iran was just a few days away from having enough nuclear material to use for multiple warheads and Iran was at fault.

Direct hit on Tel Aviv by an Iranian missile

Iranian Hypersonic missile hits Tel Aviv

That is pretty awesome but Israel does not have any bomber class aircraft.

They use fighter jets to bomb with smaller bombs in multiple succession. The big bunker buster bombs cannot be carried by the fighter jets, so Israel is limited to smaller bombs and they equip them with accurate guidance systems so they can use multiple bombs from multiple fighters to hit the same target in successive attacks.

So I have a few questions/observations

What are the OBJECTIVES of Israel's attack on Iran?

  1. To eliminate Iran's NUCLEAR threats (bomb/ballistic missile programs) and return Iran to a simple threat?
  2. To eliminate Iran's nuclear and destroy the regime so there is citizen overthrow of the Iranian theocracy?

Obviously the threat of the nuclear missiles was the impetus of the start of the actions. But what is the end game?

If they only destroy the military & nuclear sites, they attain temporary safety because it will take years, perhaps decades to rebuild what has been destroyed.

If they follow a regime change strategy, in addition to destroying the military & nuclear sites, then they may have a more friendly neighbor with a more moderate Iran regime. Or not?

So do they gamble on simply destroying capabilities and buying a couple decades of relative peace? Or do they gamble on regime change and hope for a more friendly regime with the reality that they could also end up with another hostile theocracy?

They need to keep going so the young generation can take over

Israel is NOW bombing OIL, Natural Gas and energy infrastructure. Refineries, terminals, gas fields.
Attacking Iran's energy exports will be a big blow to CHINA.

It should also be mentioned that the initial attacks on the missile production factories was a big blow to RUSSIA.

China imports huge amounts of energy from Iran. Russia imports huge amounts of weaponry from Iran. Israel is cutting off the economic engine that fuels its world wide terror operations.

X.com is an amazing resource for world news.

Reports include:

Israel has full air superiority and now are flying during daylight hours over the Iranian capital

Iranian leaders and their families are fleeing Iran by private jets

Israel has shifted their attacks and are now pounding the deep nuclear bunkers

Iranian leaderss are fleeing to Russia

Iranian National Guardsmen have "disappeared" and what command still exists has issued an order to shoot deserters

Rumors are swirling that the official government of Iran may be near the state of collapse

Israel is so effective at killing Iranian leadership, that the leadership is more worried about getting out of Iran than it is trying to protect Iran.

Iran's air defenses have stopped ZERO.ZERO percent of the Israeli missiles and perhaps have shot down 1 or 2 Israeli jets, but Israel does not confirm the loss of any jets.

Rumors are that Iran is despiretly trying to attack the USA to draw us into the war

The city of Bandar Abas, home of the Iranian Navy, is under attack while the navy fleet is actually stuck in port!

Itst bitsy Israel is changing the world.
And here we sit.
We seem to be like the bad dog, all bark no bite.
But I guess who cares? Maybe Iran will return to the prosperous country it once was.

Let us hope, that before the end of this 4 year Presidency, we are no long "no bite" and let us also hope that the start of the next term is a continuation of this term under someone like JD Vance or Marco Rubio.
