If I moved back East ??

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Would you guys still talk to me ? I been thinking since my health problems that maybe I should be a little closer to family . Ain't no way in Hell I am going back to Calif . My daughter is moving to New Hampshire. We had talked about having a granny House there . Now maybe I am thinking to just sale out here . This would be after I went back and made damn sure I liked the area . My wife went to finishing school in the area and loves it . I look at it as a spot to land when I am in the U.S. and spend at least 6-9 months a year in Panama .I ain't no Eastern city dude so I may not fit in . Whatta you think ?

I was telling the wife that maybe we could buy a larger ranch with a couple homes on it . The daughters could take care of it when we were gone .
At least this would be an easy way to finally get to Europe for 4 months and see the sites .They could watch the dogs and cats for us . The wife is starting to win this idea!

I would take New Hamshire over California any day. They have seasons there.

However, they also have much stricter building codes and tax anything that moves or is anchored down.
Great liquor stores though:clap:

Most people don'trealize how rural most of New Hampshire and western Mass is. Boston and even New York city are close enough for the ladies and maybe once a year go to a show. Otherwise it is easy to stay away.

Get North of Nashua and things are real simple. Mountain views, lots of timber and cold clear streams

Al you got to do what you have to do i know this much you will drag me out of bush alaska the same time you get my guns i like the freedoms i have. don't move too fast as i was considering stopping by to visit if i can make arangements to move a thiokol cross country.

So the ranch in Idaho might be for sale? hold on to it for me,i should be able to retire in about 10 years or so,:flowers:

boy, that's as east as you get up there. Are you just wanting to be one of the first to vote in the presidential primaries in 16? You'll end up talking funny (or should I say funnier) if you move back there. Folks in Panama might have a hard time understanding you.
With family and all the move does make sense.

We love it up here . But its a longs ways to anything . Both the wife and I miss going out to dinner/movie and it would be a lot easier traveling when we head to Panama . I think I am going to start looking at Farms or Ranches so all 3 of the girls can have horses and ride . All I know is I do not want what everyone else has . A lighthouse ? Old mill ? Something older with a lot of character .

Yes the ranch will probably be for sale . I don't hunt as much anymore and can not see keeping it for the summer use only . Finally got it up to the size I wanted with plenty of pastures .

I'll probably offer the Apartment/ laundrymay / mini storage to a good friend who plans to move up .Its already turning a profit so it should sale fairly easily .

Bout the time you get settled in the east you will be wanting to move back to Kalifornication!!!!!

Southern New hampshire is a lot like Coure DeArlane
So if you like that part nothern Idaho you'll fit right in .

Ive lived in north of Boston area(Chelmsford) near the N.H. border for 35 years before moving south,We did most of our shopping in the Salem,N.H. area (no sales tax),Ive always loved New Hampshire,we brought a cabin Squam Lakes Region of New Hampshire for our family winter skiing and summer vacations.
Its a great place to live BUT remember its friggin cold in the winters so make sure you get a home with a fireplace.

Check this out re taxes.
New Hampshire does not have a general sales tax or an income tax on an individual's reported W-2 wages.

Yep ! They sure seem to be high . It may be a deal breaker for me if it does not balance out .
I am spoiled here in Idaho . I have 4 different pieces of land . The ranch runs $800 a year and it has a home , new barn and a 3 bedroom apartment , One bare piece cost me $8 a year . another bare piece cost me $2 a year . And my 14 acre piece I just purchased runs about $100 a year .
Like i said ... I am spoiled

I've found it doesn't matter if a state does or doesn't have a sales tax or income tax it takes X dollars to run the state so they get it somehow.
