I'm not Doc (forum admin) but I think messaging by new members is either very limited or turned off completely.
I think you need 10 or more posts under your belt before you can use the messaging system. Doc can chime in to confirm.Maybe a forum trust level setting. Will ease with time I think.

Thank you. My interests include reading (which I haven't done in a while, to be honest), and other general stuff like watching movies etc. I stay well updated about politics but seldom discuss them. I am a member of a few online fora, and a few other websites. Internet is a great way to know things and spend time reading/watching, but it took the toll on my eyes. lol. I must wear glasses to read/computer now.
I'll try my best to contribute with whatever I know, if I have any knowledge about any of the topics discussed, else I will learn from others

As I said in my response, since I know you from NCT I set your account up so that you are not limited like new members who might be spammers. You should be good to go now.
As for the PM/DM option. New members cannot PM anyone but me. They are allowed to PM me in case of an issue. I send all an automated welcome message so it's easy for newbies to reply to that. But they cannot PM / DM anyone else until they have 10 posts under their belt.
