I was just wondering what everyone's musical preferences are? mine personally is the second to last option in the poll.

I like old stuff from the 60's - 70's and I'm also stuck in the 90's grunge scene. Lots of great alternative stuff came from the 90's (and a lot of dead band members too).

Flyleaf has a song I like (sick). Did they ever figure out if they were a religious band?

.

to Rusty - sorry I forgot about that, I'm rubbish at remembering them all :p sorry but at least I have your answer :P

to Ironman flyleaf are and always have been an extremely religious band, all you have to do is listen to the lyrics of Cassie to hear it (that song makes me cry every time I hear it, just pure emotion.) and also allot of their songs have references to god. If the lyrics don't prove it for you then all you have to do is load up any live performance of theirs and I guarantee you there will be at least one segment of the video with Lacey thanking god. it is strange though because they where the only religious band I've ever really gotten in to.

Basically anything except for mainstream crap, unless it's good. I listen to a lot of Death Metal and other genres of metal. Gangsta Rap too. And Classical. Outlaw Country. Dark Ambient. I'm open to all kinds of music if it tickles my fancy.

Anything with a tune that doesn't sound like a cat in a blender
Anything with lyrics sung so I can understand them.
Anthing that hasn't been played too often

What about Blue Grass?

Classical?

Country?

I like a lot of music most of it dating back to the late 50's and early 60's for Rock & Roll and Folk up to the Moody Blues etc in the acid rock years later followed by groups like Air Supply, Dire Straits and now almost exclusively country. Never was much on it during the Dance craze years nor Hip hop and Rap at all with the later two hitting a raw nerve in me for some reason. I also liked a lot of the stuff my parents listened too as I was growing up pre R&R as well as a lot of classical music. For me though I've never got into a lot of various groups and never have like load stuff as I seem to have a low tolerance to volume in stereo systems.

@Big Dog thank you I have heard stuff like that before, I have just never heard the label Blue Grass. I do like some of that stuff, some of it is quite catchy :)

Check youtube for "Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs", the soundtrack from "Bonnie and Clyde" also look for Bill Monroe.

Elf, if you do get into Blue grass, I want to give you a tip that has helped me appreciate it so much more over the years.

Banjo music is a big part of blue grass. But the tunes all sound the same.

I found the secret to telling them apart.

I don't tell just anybody but,

you seem a nice chap

So here ya go,,,,

They all have different names.

and I know what you mean it can sound similar but its like indie music in that sense, after you've heard one song you've heard them all :P

You are a girl? My mistake but a pleasant one.

This conversation gets more interesting as we go.

Please continue.

Be warned though, I am a crotchety old white male. Kind of a worn out Clint Eastwood.

Seems I get the better end of the bargain.
