What are you doing today, II

Lmao. I may or may not dress up.

In the meantime I upgraded my amp this morning. I found a nice acoustic amplifier yesterday that would be great at a pawn shop.

I brought in an older guitar I hadn't played much in a couple years along with the older amp and walked out with the bigger one for less than $50 difference. New, it would be around 800.

Got back from a nice vacation last night around 12:30AM. About 1AM, my son opens the back door where a bat had managed to get itself between the main door and screen door. Of course, the bat flew in the house. I was very pleased with myself as I caught it out of mid air with a fishing net in just a few minutes.
Today - suffering from jet-lag so not doing much.

Do your neighbors call you BATMAN now?

Gary Railcats baseball game & fireworks show with Kobe. Aunt Amie, Aunt Michelle and Uncle Mike joined us. Minor league baseball is family friendly, inexpensive and really is a great value in family entertainment. Kobe got to "run the field" along with a bunch of other kids. They have a grass slope play area and Kobe spent time there. The game was actually pretty good, sadly our team lost to the Milwaukee Milkmen.

Just got home from my nephew's wedding.

Hate to brag about it but the lovely Mrs_Bob was the most beautiful, I was the the most handsome, and Kobe was clearly the favorite of everyone!

It is a burden to be this good looking . . . :Tech-Support-icon:

Oh, yeah, the Bride & Groom were there too.

And the wedding was at a winery. In a barn. I didn't know what to expect but it was very nice. Beautiful in an informal way. And lots of fun. Oh, the food was good, no it was excellent. The bride's dad owns a restaurant, he did the catering. Sadly most wedding food is poor to bad. This was really really good. Not fancy, but good. I'll happily take good over fancy every day of the month.

Got to see family, so that was good too. We live "just far enough" away that we don't see most of them except for weddings and funerals. That is a downside to rural life. Overall an A+ evening.

Looking sharp.

Today's plan? Not entirely sure. Sitting in the hot tub with jets blasting on my sore back currently. I have to head to the garage later and change the thermostat in the sxs. The temperature sensor was acting up last winter. I changed both. Now the fan won't kick in. Stuck thermostat? I'll try that first. But considering it's a 2018 and I've put 7k on it, this is the first issue I've had that's not a wearable thing like brakes and belts. I already changed the oil and spark plug. It fires up and runs fine but the fan not kicking in. We'll see.

Started a load of laundry this morning. Shortly after starting the dryer, loud noises. Sounds like the drum rollers have failed. Will be tearing that apart. :(

Took the dryer apart. No issues with the belt, rollers... I wasn't paying close enough attention when I tore it apart but the best I could figure is the idler pulley for the belt came unsnapped. Reassembled and it's good to go. :)

Our dryer just quit as well. But it is nothing mechanical.

It is in the computer control. So, I have a tech coming in tomorrow. Time was I could and did fix dryers and washers regularly. This is above my pay grade.

Whilst here the service tech can look at the brand-new refrigerator my son totaled with a screwdriver by chipping ice off the freezer. It has a special "American Flag " door. My version of MAGA and is destined for the pool room bar if I ever get to build it.

Just dropped off at Kobe his grandparents.
Ran a couple errands.
Not much.

@pirate_girl . . . I would have never thought to use an air fryer for a steak.
Bob, I've done New York strips in the air fryer many times.
Just like with this one, just rub it down on both sides with salt, let it come to room temp then put it in the air fryer at 400 for 7 minutes or so per side.

I spent the day replacing the top rails on our deck. I already treated it with linseed oil to waterproof it. In a few days I'll paint it with leftover deck and porch paint leftover from the flat deck trailer build. It's the same color. I already replaced one board earlier this summer. The rest of the deck is still solid but the top rails were rotting.

Like you, I painted today. A pole building I built a couple months ago. Painted it today and now it fits in with the other 4 buildings that are the same color. ;)

Unlike you guys, I hate to paint. Inside or outside.

Prolly 'cause I'm no good at it. It is not a hard task but I take little pleasure in doing it.
That said, I do like the results.
