What are you doing today, II

We will be cleaning and setting up the North deck for a swimming pool. A 4'X8'X24" blow-up. That is a lot of water and will be heavy.
However, this deck is built on a concrete foundation strong enough and legal for a house addition with 2X10 floor joists on 12" centers.
The pool will sit right above the foundation wall which is 36" deep and 11" wide.
It is not your average deck construction because we have always planned to extend the kitchen on to it.

I wnt to the Y for aquarobics came home to mellow out in the heat.
got a bout 1 hour on that and had a rescue call for sick hiker 4 miles in on a trail down in the mountain
we got to the trail head and ambulance right behind us Medic and EMT and 2 others went right down on the trail we got our stokes and one wheel cart ready and went down the trail (we are older and slower) it took an hour or so the medic had him drinking and giving him electrolyte's by the time the 8 of us got there he was moving ok we were prepping him to to ride out and he said he like to try walking out definitely smother than riding out on our cart it took us about 2 1/2 ours to get back up the hill and out but he made it and so did we I'll sleep great tonight I hope.

This is the cart we use 2 people and you have to rotate them because its tiring and up hill we put a tugger (person) with a rope on the front to help pull up the hills while the 2 people balance it.

Yep for a single track trail it is way better than carrying a stokes out thats 3 people wide (3 each side and victim) in a single track 6 are beating brush and way more exasting. we have a 2 wheel one too for flat wide areas but we don't even carry that one with us any more this one just works.

Correction, it is an inflatable hot tub. 60" X 60" X 28" deep.
It fit perfectly on the deck space.
Full of water and warming up.
We do have a Jaquzzi tub.
But this is outside.
Hmmmm.

Cut down a tree today that died next to my kitchen window, was overhanging the house some as well as the power line, I used a scissor lift on the back of my 5 ton truck to cut one big branch that was over the power line, by taking it in pieces. Next I triangulated the tree with one strap to a tree with a comalong and another to the 5 ton. I was able to pull it over while cutting with the chainsaw, dropped without hitting anything , got hung up in another tree, but was able to pull it out with the truck. It’s now cut up and tomorrow I’ll clean up the mess, then rejouvinate the lawn. I can only work til around 11 am before it’s too hot out.

I've been the same. Work in the am until about 11am when it heats up. The inlaws are here for the weekend with their small tab camper staying in the yard so I don't want to be doing much actual work. They're here for our friends wedding which we are part of but not actually in the wedding party. I brought the fifth wheel camper over to their place for sleeping arrangements for the weekend. Pick it up Sunday and home to pack it up to leave Tuesday for a 5k trip across the country.

Laid low this holiday, cleaned up some of the tree mess while cooking a small prime rib. Son worked I the shop for a few hours, the three of us just got done devouring a 3 bone prime rib with baked potatoes. Now reposing on the couch.

Today is a workday for us. Madison's room needs a cleaning and an upgrade from 4-5 year old to an 8 year old going on 14. The trundle bed goes under her regular bed and is replaced by a nice glass desk right in front of the window.
She and her Dad, and his girlfriend, went to six Flags and will stay for the fireworks. That gets them home at best by 11;30 PM.

I am power washing rugs so they are fresh for the front foyer and her room

Crumpy and I will be exhausted later and spend some quality time in the jacuzzi.

A little Reisling and coffee by the fire later.

Our friends are getting married tomorrow. We were just over helping to decorate the hall. We've got a band of severe thunderstorms passing through. There was a tornado warning on the radio saying they're tracking a cell capable of producing tornadoes just west of camp heading straight this way. We'll see what happens in the next few hours.

I'm back home. Been back and forth to Milwaukee for the Summer National fencing championships.

Mowed the valley area of the property. Watered the garden. Did some weeding. Cut down a 20' Japanese red maple that died. Then cut it up. Hauled it to the burn pile. Stump is still in the ground. It was a beautiful tree. Planted it shortly after moving into the house, so roughly 28 to 30 years ago.

Puttering and doing small projects. Going to strap on the backpack sprayer soon and hit poison ivy I've been spotting all over the place.

What's with all the creatures lately? Stepped out on the patio this morning around 5:30 with a cup of coffee. Felt an itch on my leg. Looked down to find hundreds of piss ants on the ground and climbing up my legs.
Caught a racoon in a trap the other day. Saw some deer playing in the yard. I scared them away as they like to eat my Hostas.
My son called me an hour ago saying there's a snake in the house (where he lives, next door). Went over and removed the snake.
When I came outside around noon today, saw a groundhog on the patio who ran to its den under the patio. Moved the trap to in front of its hole. Caught him 15 minutes later.

I was hungry, really hungry. The Mrs. is out of town so I'm on my own.
Reached into the meat freezer (yea, I have one dedicated to beef) and grabbed/cooked a roast.
Beef was nice but the best part was after cooking it...
I went into my office. 59° I love our A/C unit.

I hate when that happens.

Thankfully it's not supposed to rain today as I have to pick up our fifth wheel camper over at our friend's place to bring home to pack for our trip Tuesday. My back burns. I slept like crap. The wedding was good. Like any other wedding I suppose. The reception ended up moving from the hall over to their place on the new deck. We helped bring everything over then headed home.

Got the tree mess cleaned up yesterday, raked and blew the yard then started the lawn rejuvenation by over seeding with fertilizer and watering the crap out of it, need to pick up some more grass seed today to finish the job. In a month I’ll have a nice green lawn to spend time taking care of that I don’t have. Wife went to visit her sister in the Bay Area yesterday and will return later today, so I better get going and get my chores done and a planned dump run, berfore the task master returns.

Sitting in the hospital surgical waiting room.

The lovely Mrs_Bob is having a cataract removed from her right eye. Should be home before 1pm (central). She has orders not to lift for a few days.

We are scheduled to be back here again tomorrow for a follow up exam.

I had mine done a few weeks apart. Been nearsighted since maybe 1st grade. I didn't get corrective. Just plain. I figured I was wearing glasses my whole life, so, leave it alone.

I can now see perfectly without glasses except for reading. Doc said that happens alot.

First day of our summer vacation. More on that in my other rv trip thread. It was raining when we left. Now it's sunny. I'm tired and cranky. Just dealing with other idiot drivers for 4hrs. Today was a shorter drive. Tomorrow will be longer.

Just got done spraying a bunch of poison ivy. The stuff is EVERYWHERE this year.
Spent some time doing Amazon Prime day shopping this morning. Found a few deals... and ended up spending $600.

I will be working on the very last 18 feet of HANDYSTONE wall at our home property. Burning bushes, I planted years ago, need a stone border. I have to dig a shallow trench, lay paver base gravel and set the stones. One layer mostly so it is just a soldier stacking
placement in a straight line. Hopefully, I have just enough to do the job.
Then, just regrade the lawn and plant grass seed.

Been home from the hospital for a couple hours. We did stop at White Castle on the way home. The lovely Mrs_Bob is hiding out in Melen's bedroom, keeping away from the dogs.

I've watered the vegetable garden, moving the sprinkler every 45 minutes. Planted some more flowers. Watered the rebuilt bed area where the tree was removed. Watered all the flowers in the pool yard, and the hostas, ferns, herbs, etc etc etc

I'm trying to post on market place motorcycle for sale and I'm loosing the battle here's the description I got that far :(

Seller's description

Grandpop just what you need for your grandson or granddaughter (their mom and grandmother will warm up to it eventually😊) 2012 TTR50 just a little bigger than a PW50 automatic clutch 3 speed easy shift down N-1-2-3 up, electric start. Front brakes rear brakes as I said no clutch perfect to get them to learn to shift before they go to clutched bikeThe Yamaha TT-R50E has a seat height of 21.9 inches for younger or smaller riders. Any one that can ride a bicycle without training wheels won’t have a problem. There's a throttle limiter to sell mom on its safety. New battery carb just cleaned and rejetted to run better at idle. It's actually in great shape except one little ding on front fender from a crash doesn’t affect it all the kids call it franken fender.
