Been to TB lately? If you go inside to order you have to use their kiosk. If you go through drive thru you have to order thru AI. I don't like either method. Never gets the order right. Never! And if you go in to complain, they say, well you ordered it! Never ever going there again!
 
I haven't been to TB in 40 years but I understand what you're saying. I don't care if it's a 17 year old kid that count change but let me order from a real person.
Oh, and F those tip jars, especially if they use a kiosk or electronic ordering mechanisms.
 
The Taco Hell I visited a few weeks ago had the maned drive through. Last I was inside a Taco Hell was in the 80's when they were new to my area.

However our local Lowes only offers self check out which we always need help with. So there is one or two employees there to help and over see self check out. I despise that. So yesterday we were in Lowes getting paint and supplies. Wife want a plant so we visited the outdoor plant area. And was able to check out there with a person. Mucho better than the self check out.
 
Yes. Self check out is just as bad as kiosk and dealing with AI all the time. When I told the girl that came to the counter that I do not like using the kiosk she said, "That's how you have to order here" Well guess what not me. Not ever again. Gave them two chances, TWO! I know it's not gonna make a difference to their business. They will, I'm sure will thrive and survive without me. Oh well.

I refuse to use self checkout. Especially at a Lumber/hardware store.

I like Lowes but always go to lumber or Home and Garden for checkout.

When they change that, and I cannot use a real person to check out, I'm done making a purchase there.

Yes sir, I agree. Near my town is a self serve lumber yard. U drive up to the gate it swings open and you go in. Not a person in sight. say you want 8 ft. 2x4s, drive around for 10 minutes looking for 2x4s, not a person in sight, find stock of haphazardly stacked 2 by, load yourself, go to exit gate to get out and finally, oh! Look there's a person! A seventeen year old dude that could care less about your purchase. told him what I had and he said how much and I paid. Hell, I could of lied and said I got half what I had and he wouldn't have cared. I could go on and on and, in this day and age, it won't matter.
 
I, on the other hand, don't mind self check out. I don't have to deal with idiots that can't figure out why I gave a bill and some change, expecting whole dollars back. Or maybe some pennies so I get a quarter back. Etc.
I put the change in first and then the bills and get back exactly what I expect.
The machine gives me no attitude. Doesn't have a phone, tattoo, or bull ring in it's nose.

I have been to a Taco Bell ONCE!
Some 20-25 years ago.
That was enough.
 
I think I've been to Taco Bell maybe a half dozen times in my life.

But oddly I was at one a few months ago. They had just introduced some sort of chicken nuggets, I was at the CVS next door, in the mood for a chicken nugget so I pulled through the drive thru window. It was NOT worth it. But I did deal with a human thru the order speaker.

Today I took Kobe into McDonalds for a potty break as we were driving home from daycare. They had a kiosk for ordering. I bypassed the kiosk, walked up to the cash register and a kid came up and took my order in person.
 
I get a kick out of the self checkout at the retail big name pharmacy in the city. I go in for one item. Quickly get it and go to the self checkout. Once it's all done, it says "please let us know how WE did today." I laugh and say "Don't you mean "How did I do"?
