The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens make their way to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII.

The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee will welcome the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens back to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3, 2013.

Super Bowl XLVII will feature brothers John and Jim Harbaugh, head coaches for the Ravens and 49ers. This will mark the first time in NFL history that two brothers, will go head to head in a Super Bowl.

In Sunday's NFC Championship game, the 49ers overcame a 17-point deficit and beat the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 in Atlanta, making them the NFC Champions for the first time since the 1994-1995 season. The 49ers are no stranger to New Orleans, in 1990 they defeated the Denver Broncos 55-10 in the Superdome during Super Bowl XXIV. The 49ers, who finished the season 11-4-1, will attempt to join the Pittsburgh Steelers as the only franchises with six Super Bowl titles.

The Ravens (10-6) found themselves at the AFC Championship in Foxborough for the second straight year, only this time they defeated the New England Patriots 28-13 to secure their spot in Super Bowl XLVII. The Ravens have not made a Super Bowl appearance since 2001 when they defeated the New York Giants 33-7 at Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa - the first Super Bowl victory since the Ravens were established as a franchise in 1996.

"We are excited to welcome the players, coaches and fans of both of these great teams back to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII" said Host Committee Co-Chairs Mary Matalin and James Carville. " Our great city is back and better than ever, and the world is about to be reminded why New Orleans is a favorite destination for the Super Bowl. No city does it better than we do. Period."

The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, led by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, will host New Orleans' first Super Bowl since 2002. This is the 10th Super Bowl for New Orleans, tying South Florida for the most Super Bowl's hosted by a single city.

Super Bowl XLVII will be held on February 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is set for 5:30pm CST.

We'll be rooting for the niners too. Can't stomach rooting for any team that has Ray Lewis. It was disgusting how he literally got away with murder. I can't believe that ESPN is actually going to hire him.

Yeah, but at least NASCAR was smart enough to stay away from him back in 2006 when he tried to join with his racing team.

To be honest, I really don't care too much which team wins. I suppose I slightly favor the '49ers.

I'll be at a Superbowl party but I'll be there for the food, alcohol and good company. I hope the advertisements and half-time show are good this time around. I've been kinda disappointed the past few years.

Yep, the old Bud Frogs were good. Then the string of "Leon" commercials, they were my favorite.

I'm up for Baltimore. Don't really care for the team per se but,,,,,,,, I cannot see the city of Frisco getting any good press.

Lived in Balto/DC for 20 years, so gotta' go with the Ravens by a fieldgoal. Yeah, Ravens by three.

Ray Lewis is an animal and will bring about key turnovers.

Niners need to play smart and start pressuring Flacco. Dumb stuff won't win it. Halftime sucks!!!

Did I say Ravens by three points?

I meant to say THIRTY!

Only in America can a murderer become a hero .............. it appears the zebras made sure the NFL got to write another good storyline!
