I'm ready for a new Smart Phone. I have the Apple iPhone 3G and it's okay, but I'm ready to upgrade to a smart-phone with MiFi. The Apple iPhone 4G (4th Generation not a 4G phone) has the MiFi but I've had my fill of iTunes for managing the music on the phone so I want something else.

AT&T has the best coverage for my neck of the woods so I'll be staying with them.

I'm looking at the HTC running Droid
Motorola also running Droid
and Samsung also running Droid

All are true 4G network Phones and all have MiFi capabilities.

I'm also considering the Nokia 8N with MiFi running a different OS. A coworker has this one and it works good. Trouble is it costs most of all the phones listed because AT&T does not carry it or give you anything off on it if you buy it.

Anyone have good or bad experiences with smartphones that can do MiFi? If so please share.

No experience with MiFi. In fact not really sure what it is. I have had Blackberries and a Droid X and two days ago got an Iphone from Verizon.

The Blackberry I like the ease of moving around in it and I loved the BES server syncing with Microsoft Exchange including the Notes and To Do list. But the fricken phone was was constantly dropping calls, not being able to hear people or they could not hear you. It just was not reliable.

My Droid X was a pain to get to places on it. With time it got easier, phone had good reception. But it was always locking up, you had to pull the battery which was a 5 minute process and the battery life stunk on it because the Android system did not automatically shut down programs that you weren't using. And because the Android operating system allows just about every Tom, Dick and Harry write programs for use on the Android it's stability was not the best.

I just got an Iphone through Verizon so just learning the ropes. Navigating is getting easier fast and so far no lockups or anything to complain about yet.

Wifes best friend has had a Samsung Droid for 6 months ............... she's going to get an iPhone!

I posted a short "review" of sorts with my Motorola Droid Pro in the cell phone poll.... I love this phone. Great combo of Android os and Blackberry keyboard... It DOES take some getting used to as the menu function is certainly different that the Blackberry. I am happy to have the droid and not be locked in with Apple as well. Mine is through Verizon, and I am not sure that this phone is available on AT&T.

The iPhone is an excellent phone. I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face. I use the music on the phone maybe 5 to 10% of the time. The phone, texting and messaging I use all the time. I need to hear your guys experiences to help me make the right choice for me.

MiFi is like WiFi only it's just for me. It allows you to connect up to 5 other devices to connect to for internet. Very handy. Currently I use an Air Card. It works fine but MiFi will let me do it all with the phone. The phone will put out a wireless signal that I can connect to the internet from the middle of nowhere as long as I have a signal.

wife is using a samsung galaxy 5 running droid 2.3 and loves it - she's had it for close to a year and I'm not sure she could function without it any more.
