Olympics in France, what the heck am I watching?

Anyone else watch the Olympic opening ceremony and think to yourself WTF is wrong with these people?

Trans/gay parody of the Last Supper
Gay threesome opening scene
Gay kissing during the dance sequences

What the hell did I watch? I mean if you are gay, be you, whatever. I don't care what people do in their private lives. Live your life your way. But what the hell is with the cultural war on traditional values and what the hell does it have to do with Olympic sports?

So that said, I just cancelled my subscription to the Paramount+ streaming service. Paramount+ and the various NBC/Paramount affiliates are streaming the Olympic games. Sorry, not sorry. It is only $5.99/month but I can find a better use for that money.

Peacock is the NBC streaming platform. You might have cancelled the wrong one Bob. Paramount is CBS.

I saw the last hour and a half of the ceremony. We had company and watched as we chatted. It was weird for sure. I'm glad we missed the last supper mochery and the gay kissing BS.

I'll be looking at some of the coverage on Peacock, but I'm certainly not getting all thrilled with the games as I always did in the past 😐

India even realizes that they are mocking the entirety of Christianity.

An Olympian, who is a personal friend of mine, texted me this earlier today:

Let's ask ourselves what message does the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 convey, and who is behind it? Who ordered it? who ordered? Who ordered such scenes to be made? This message went out into the world, watched by millions of viewers, what did he want to convey? Who must be behind this order? it must be a very strong organization! Think about it, ask yourself?

The Olympics has become one of the most divisive cultural phenomena. It really hit high gear with Simone Biles - we couldn’t celebrate her for being an outstanding gymnast, it had to be that she was a BLACK gymnast. Then the kneeling and turning the back on the anthem. Then snubbing Caitlin Clark (because she’s white and straight in a league of black lesbians). And now this. I will not be watching for quite some time - maybe never. It sure would be nice if it just went back to a sporting competition…

The concept of the modern Olympics was to bring nations and cultures together. The examples you cited prove that mission is no longer respected. Or true.

Been spending this stretch of gorgeous weather (not counting Canadian wildfire smoke) in the woods cutting firewood. The olympics are the furthest thing from my mind right now. Not a great fan but must admit I watch some of the Winter Games to check up on all the Vermonters competing especially Mikala Shiffrin the best women's downhill racer in history.

Instead of watching a Notre Dame epee fencer win the Bronze medal in women's Epee, I spent the afternoon outside. I'm keeping track of the scores, but after last night I decided not to watch the games.

Catholic Bishop Robert Barron . . .

And the bad press continues and now the media is beginning to report that the IOC removed the video.

The whole story is at the link but honestly this little bit below is all you need to know.

The Olympics removed videos of its opening ceremony featuring drag queens mocking Christianity from its official YouTube channel less than 24 hours after the games began.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games faced backlash for what critics deem a “blasphemous” opening ceremony showcasing drag queens posed as Christian imagery including “The Last Supper” and Greek God Dionysus. Since then, the Olympics has removed its own YouTube videos of the performance as re-uploads begin to disappear from multiple social media platforms.
Videos posted to the official Olympics YouTube channel titled “LET THE GAMES BEGIN! 🔥 | #Paris2024 Opening Ceremony Highlights” and “SPECTACULAR Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony! 💥🇫🇷 | Highlights” display an error message with comments turned off.
“This video is not available,” YouTube informs the viewer upon clicking the old links.
