OK.... Now what ??????

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Well its 7:00 P.M. out here in California and it pretty much looks like I was right about who would end up being our new President .
1. Palin did not help the Republican ticket as McCain had hoped and I had stated would help create more unrest in the Republican ticket than help .
2. The last 8 years of Bush pretty much killed any chance of McCain winning and if some of the loyal Republican Bush lovers still believe he is so great , can you tell me why every Republican candidate ran backwards to get as far as possible away from any connection with him ???

Ok its over ..... Now What ???

Do we start tommorrow morning building this nation back into one nation undivided , Or do we continue to run around and yell " The Sky is Falling":chicken: if Obama wins .

Get over it guys ! Move on ! Its over !

I want to be a great strong undivided nation again ! Do you think you can possibly give the new guy a chance to help do that or are you going to continue to throw up every reason and roadblock you can think of to prove him wrong or hope to see him fail .

If he fails ,we all fail........ for cryin out loud .:huh:

My personal feelings or yours is not what's important now .We are both better than that . Lets be the "generation" that finally gets America headed in the right direction again . WE did not end up in this mess overnight and no one can fix it over night .
Let your congress man know how you feel and what you expect from them . How many of you have ever "really written" a email to your Senator???? Com on .... be honest now

I'm Republican and unlike John McCain I am more than willing to reach across the aisle ,as far as necessary, and shake the hand of the "far left Democrates" in hopes of actually making a difference:shock: . Hell we got to start somewhere .....

And one more thing........ old "California" took a lot of crap off some of us for his beliefs about the Democrate/Republican issues ,but it looks to me that more people in America agree with him then disapprove .
The vote tonight just proved that . Good Call "California" . I hope your man can deliver for us and this old Republican is willing to tip his hat to you , roll up his sleeves and do what it takes to reunite us as "One great Nation" again .

God Bless America .... either stand up with me and lets get back on track or get the hell outta my way ,because either way:hide: .... I'm coming through .....:thumb:

I don't see that. Every republican I talked to was fired up after the Palin selection.

She may not have resonated with those riding the fence, but she was definately supported by republicans.

It is really hard to tell if Palin hurt McCain or not. The media crucified her and for no reason. She didn't have a chance but even so if McCain picked someone else I don't think it would have helped him. He focused more on the war and Obama focused on the economy. The People are more concerned about the economy.

If Obama wins which I am sure he will. What I would expect or hope is the country now Unites and works together to make the United States the best place to be again. No more Monday morning quarterbacks but people that are pro-active, calling your representatives daily if that is what it needs to be, no more of just letting our representatives vote without our opinions. No more pointing fingers as what is done is done. Look to the future.

Man.... I just had a bad feelin about it from the start . I know a lot of "Old" Republicans and most were a little shocked by his selection.

Palin mentioned that 17 million women voters/ glass ceiling thing in one of her first speeches and I honestly thought McCains choice was in hopes of grabbing as many Clinton supporters as possible by choosing a women .

I still think his plan was more along that idea than anything else . Maybe I was wrong ,but the voting numbers tonight are proving otherwise .

Are we talking about the people working together or the politicians working together? Bush touted working together, we get hit with 9-11 early in his 8 years in office. Since then there has been nothing but fighting that I blame on resentment about Gore losing the election. Regardless of Obama or McCain being the president, I just don't see any of them working together for a common good. Both sides will be trying to take care of themselves.

Brent, my prayer is that every one works together. Both Politicians and the People. It will take a miracle as every one right now is divided.

I sure missed something in this election.
I picked McCain and tomorrow I will have a crow sandwich. Do I have to eat the feathers too?.
I think the press elected Obama.
No the political war ain’t over yet..
It’s going to be interesting.

Al, I guess I will have to continue to live near my small town, cling to my guns, religion and conservative values at least for the next 4 years........ while hoping the dems don't try to take all of them away from me....

I wish the dems well in righting the sinking ship but I also doubt their ability to be able to change what is already in motion. I will hold on to the things that are still important to me such as my conservative views on limited government and hope we don't continue down the socialist path that has been predicted by many with the outcome of this election. :hide:

Since I make less than $250K, NOW I sit back and wait for my free money!!!

I think on day one Barack has to tell the American People he lied. I don't think he or McCain could bring this Country back by cutting taxes. The government has to cut just about every program they can. JMO

That is what I have been saying for years. I work for the federal government. It would make you sick to see the money that is spent for stupid a$$ things. Republican or democrat, I want to see a reduction in government spending.

you mean like the 700 billion pay off of bushy boys friends in wall street. Hey I really hate it, part of that 7.7 billion went to PNC bank to buy National City bank...........thought that was to buy mortgages from these banks, not FREE MONEY to buy other banks.

that was the biggest rip off of the American tax payer ever shoved up our butts by the biggest bunch of bought and paid for politicians ever.

Now I consider wellfare like half the nation who bought into Obama's BS and the MSM lobby of it. I'd love to see a nation undivided; had Barr, Balwin, or even Nader won, I could see it - but a man who's campaign depended upon racism [90some%? of the black vote] and welfare [unprecidented "homeless" turn out?], I believe this man divides the nation more than ever!

God Bless America .... either stand up with me and lets get back on track or get the hell outta my way ,because either way:hide: .... I'm coming through .....:thumb:

Big Al for president! :thumb:

Does anyone have the address of who/where I can send my diesel and gasoline bills to? Or are they just going to give it out free at the pumps? While overjoyed about the free fuel, I'm a bit sad about the lost chance at urban renewal. There was a statement somewhere that the cities would be burned if Obama didn't win.

Really though. I've long said that WE have to work together, no more of the "ME" bs. Funny how old JohnBoy said the same thing not 5 minutes ago on CNN. Thinks it's going to happen? Dream on people. The only time in my memory this happened was 9/11/2001. Huh, maybe we might have needed that urban renewal I mentioned.

At any rate, the Middle Class is dead. Oh yeah!!!! Hey Joe the Plumber, please send my share of your earnings quickly, I need a new backhoe for my tractor to bury my guns and bullets, and a years supply of food.

The 'Ol War Horse was a fool's hope, at best. I hoped, but didn't honestly expect him to get it done. Palin, I think, was(is) a gimmick who helped with the base and some free publicity, but certainly didn't bring in any fresh blood to the repubs.

In retrospect, I truly think that McCain was not meant to win. I think he was set up to be the fall guy and give the federal government -national economy mess over to the dems and allow the repubs to maneuver for '12.

My new hope is that BigAl's comments will prove true, and not the next fool's hope. I sincerely hope my fears are unfounded.

God DOES bless America, we have chosen, now we must live with that choice.

Conspiracy. This is whos opinion? Not saying its false. But WHERE do you get this feeling?????

The next question is, in 4 years, will Obama's approval rating be above or below what it currently is for Bush?

This nation will never come back together, the coming apart will accelerate.

Yup, I think your right. Scary isn't it? The ultra left will be crying discrimination every time the ultra right says no, or yes.
The ultra right will be crying reverse discrimination every time the ultra left says yes or no.

Guess who's caught in the middle.:shitHitFan::YesNo::hide:

I just read that the American Economy is in its worst state in 70 years....if this is right and im guessing it is it's going to be a tall order for your new President to show improvement in the short term and no matter who would have won the top job they would have been in the same situation.

So what will you guys be looking out for as signs of President Obama to be doing a bad, fair or good job in rebuilding your country??

Must agree with Al and his first post in this thread and to be honest it's all down to trust now and having faith in the man thats leading your nation....i would for one carry a level of caution but no matter who leads your country you have to do this anyway.

And when i got up this morning something really bugged me in my media here in the UK....Headlines "American history made with first ever black president"...

I would have had the headline "New president elected can he fulfill his promises"....he could be a little green martian or even a Robot and i would still have used the same headline.

Just some random thoughts.

Galvatron, looks like we were posting at the same time. Read between the lines of my last post. [The one just before your own] We seem to be on the same wave length.:tiphat::beer:

GB... I have made the prediction here in the office this morning and will say it again here... He will be a one term President. His "changes" will not come and he will be gone.

It would be great if we could bring our nation back together again, and I am all for it. I just don't think he is the guy to do it.

He will be a one term President. His "changes" will not come and he will be gone.

That of course depends upon the Republican Party. If they put up another John McCain then he will be in for 8 years.

My wife said it took a Carter to get a Reagan so there is hope.

I'm not sure this will be the kick in the pants the GOP needs to change it's platform but at least at the next election there won't be the Bush legacy weighing down the candidate.

I just read that the American Economy is in its worst state in 70 years....

The economy was far worse in '80 just prior to Regan.

I hope that BO can move center rather than left. Because if he can't and tries to run the country from the left, then we are really in for what we had 79 years ago if not worse. And the rest of the world will be right with us.

I'm not going to say far worse, but the combination of left Congress and White House sure could put so many bandaids on the bubble that in 4 years we won't even be able to find the pieces when it explodes. :ermm:

The government caused our economic problems, I don't have much faith in those dumb asses straightening them out.
