Tonight the line between you and I and the computer is now all fiber optic cable, and highest speed it can deliver. This machine is now "turbo charged" and it is FAST!!...for how old it is....

Do I sound any differently??:shifty:

Clear as a bell. And I always thought that raspiness was due to inhaling too much ammonium hydrate! :w00t2:

 I love my high speed turbo Road Runner service, Kirk.
It's amazing, innit?

Do you sound any different?
Dunno, but from now on your posting will be like an auctioneer speaking.:yum:
Enjoy!

I'm going to type as fast as I can so I can keep up.

Have you tried any of those speed test sites to see what your upload and download speeds are?

I have Xfinity Broadband. Fast enough for me

Guess, I'm the one on the short bus.

But yet they keep the phone company keeps bragging about how they have high speed internet available to 95% of the county. 10 years ago that speed was high speed, but not any more.

Something isn't right here....Maybe my older computer from back in the Late 90's??

Or my internet provider, or my local provider. How would you start to get to the problem I have?

Thanx, Kirk

I have to admit I have never seen F+ as a grade. :yum:

Looks like I'm right middle of the road. A plain ole C.

You would share your result with NETINS ....looks like they are your ISP. Sure not your computer. Even old ones go faster than the results I'm reporting. You might run the test a few more times. At different times of the day. You might be pleasantly surprised. If not complain to NETINS.

Are you sure you bought into a high-speed plan? Those numbers in the 2nd post suck.

Did you drop zoom?

After I posted my results, I re-tested and got much better scores.
No I did not drop them. They are the only choice beside dial up or satellite out here. We never get more than .5 on upload and 10 on download. It all goes through Syracuse from here.

(several tests back to back)

Can anyone really interpret this information??
Wow! That is slow as heck. The ping is the time it takes for you computer to contact another one. Lower numbers are better. The upload is the time it takes for your computer to send info back to another one. This would be when you reply to a post for example. The download is the time it takes for another computer to send info to yours. At your speeds pics must be slow as well.

Yep, I bet pics and such are slow at that speed. Larry, you might ask your ISP (NETNET) what speeds you should see so that you know if you are getting what you are paying for.

....continued, I forgot to say they (NETNET) will know what those numbers are. Ask them what your upload and download speeds should be. Ping depends on what server you are pinging so I would not mention that number to them.

It's way better than dial up and the best I can get out here other than satellite - nd I won't pay for that...

It's a Cellcom cellular router internet connection.
