ICE agents face 500% increase in risks, so CNN promotes "App" that tracks them real time

The public opinion is firmly behind deporting criminal illegals.

So being anti-American, CNN is now pushing a smart phone app that allows people to post real time ICE activity in real time.

Some on Social Media are calling on Trump Supporters to download the app and post dozens of fake ICE raids every day to make the app useless. That would actually work, but I suspect that people would get tired of creating the fake reports pretty quickly.

I have mixed feelings on all this. When I went through the immigration process (legally) the ICE agents were some of the coldest and most heartless government employees I've ever dealt with. There is a deep culture of assholery in that department.

Immigration is a complex issue. Especially, hard for people that have for whatever reason been in the US for a long period of time. As real caring humans the whole process could use a lot more compassion. That being said, the fact that mass illegal immigration was essentially promoted by the previous administrations is really the "source" of this situation and they should bare the moral guilt for the consequences. As with most things in politics, it's a pendulum that often swings too far in either direction.

I have an inherent dislike of law enforcement in general. As a child, age 4, I had a traumatic Christmas eve while the police raided my aunt's house where our family was planning our Christmas that year.I watched in horror while police demolished the house, kicking presents from under the tree & stomping them while holding shotguns to my families heads, including mine & my 3 year old twin cousins. A year after that I was looking out the window when my uncle was murdered by an off duty deputy. At 17 I was cuffed, beaten, maced (was before they switched to pepper spray), driven around on back roads while the two cops casually discussed where to dispose of bodies, then dumped in a ditch after a few kicks. My "crime" was walking to a corner convenience store at midnight. I've witnessed countless other abuses on others with the misfortune of being born on the wrong side of the tracks or not conforming to narrow societal standards. So when we have reached a point where even I find myself defending LEO's, which to my surprise I have found myself doing as of late, the pendulum has swung off the hook.

There is way more to the above two posts.

My wife dealt with immigration. No issues. Everybody was nice and helpful. He getting also, and I came along to help if needed. I was not needed with her either. All went smoothly.

17 out at midnight? Ya, there's more to the story. Way more.

I have no use for partial truths in an attempt to paint a picture.

Not a lot more. I had left home the year before. Was renting a tiny trailer & doing the odd rural manual labor work; bucking hay, building fence, rattlesnake wrangling, collecting bounty on coyotes, mason assistant, etc. An Allsup's convenience store had just opened in town, the only 24-7 place there at the time. I had bucked hay from 6 am until 10 pm, had came back to the trailer, showered, & I wanted a damned burrito & a fountain Dr Pepper. End of story. Any questions?

Tell us the story of why the cops were called and what did you do to get them fired up? Or they were just cruising for a bruisin and found you?

When I was young, the only negative run ins with the law, and there were more than a few, were self inflicted.

They weren't called, just cruising. Did I rile them up? Well, I was 17. I said 2 things that may have been considered smart asses, the second one set the scumbag off. First, when asked to see my drivers license (and remember, I was walking), I said "Was I speeding?" as I handed it to him. Later I was asked where I was going & where I was coming from (I answered both). Asked if I had been drinking, using drugs, had a weapon on me, (no x3) then he said "Decent people aren't out at this time of night." which prompted my next smart assed remark "Then what does that make you, sir?". Seconds later I was being slammed onto the hood of their car, cuffed, spun around, punched in the solar plexus, with comments like "You think you're funny? How funny is this, punk? You think this is funny?" Then came the mace. "You like laughing gas, funny boy? Have some laughing gas."

So, yeah, I provoked it, right? Now, you either piss off, or I'll be banned shortly, because I am through defending myself from your accusations regarding my interactions with sadistic LEO scum.

17 talking back to a cop.
Ill say no more. Don't want you banned
I found the ignore button, so don't sweat it. I want nothing to do with anyone who thinks the actions of those pigs was in any way acceptable. You clearly have zero respect for our construction & civil liberties.

You back talked smack to them. Not sayin' you deserved it but you did ask for it.
When confronted by the police, what's wrong with just being nice. An argument will get you nowhere no matter how right you are or wrong they acted. Only a judge can give them a smack-down for their behavior.

Understand this primal point of being a police officer, you simply cannot ever yield control of the situation at scene.

Most police aren't bad, or mean. Most perps are. Been there myself from both sides. Took one out in a bar one night for smack talking about my wife. He was bad dude who ended up later in jail for murder. He was an exception.

It happens.

All that said, this thread is about ICE Agents who almost never go into a calm, controlled situation. No comparison to the average street cop. And now-a-days, it is worse than ever. Cut them a little slack

Dude, hate to say it but you asked for trouble with your mouthing to them. That is no excuse for redneck cops beating, macing you and pepper spraying you after cuffing you; that is crazy. Talking of where they put bodies is insane. Did you get charged with anything? What was the outcome?

At 19, in the Navy, I go with a gal to the store to buy beer. She was 21, the legal age at the time in Virginia. We are in a supermarket. Cashier rings up the beer, asks for ID. She had been married and divorced. She shows her ID. Two pieces. One was her maiden name, other was her married name. Both picture ID's.

They refuse to sell to her. I argue. Make a scene. The rent a cop is called over. We argue. Finally he says one more word out of you and I'll take you in for disorderly conduct. The gal (I don't recall her name) nudged me to leave. I was walking out with her but couldn't leave well enough alone. I turned and put my thumbs in my ears and waved my fingers at him. I thought it was funny. The rent a cop didn't. He ran up behind me, slammed me over the shopping carts and handcuffed me. This was a Friday night. I was in jail for the weekend. Crazy weekend. Luckily no abuse like you experienced but like yours it was the result of a not so smart teenager being a smart ass with authority. That was the one and only time I was in jail. It was my own fault.

I wasn't charged with anything. After they shoved me in the back & drove around for a half hour while the pair made comments about which spots were good for disposing of a body, they pulled over several miles out of town, draged me out by the hair, kicked me several times, threw me ina ditch, removed the cuffs, & told me to enjoy my walk.

And I should mention that I said that I find myself supporting ICE even after my interactions with subhuman LEO vermin that yourself & others keep excusing the actions of. I'll be sure to remind any of you with daughters that they brought it upon themselves if any of them are ever raped.

That's a Bullshit reaction to reasonable discussions.
No surprise.

Such talk gets little respect here. Sorry you feel that way.

I would be surprised if there was a person in this Forum who has not had a bad experience with an overzealous policeman. I know I have, since 16 years old until just a year ago, I have had mine. The environment in which they must work cannot help but make it so. And today's environment is worse for them than I can ever recall.
At the same time, imagine how orderly and safe our lives would be without them and their "attitude." I doubt it would actually be better.

What a horrible, cruel thing to imply.

No one has made excuses for bad cops. No one. You seem to put them all in the same bag. You are wrong. As with everything, there are good and there are bad. Hopefully the bad ones are weeded out and karma gets them.

The hate you have for the cops is only hurting you. And if confronted again it will most likely get you in trouble AGAIN.

Please, explain to me how my response was any more offensive than his statement. I had a valid excuse to be out, just as he did. But he & his partner certainly made his statement partly true. They were definitely not decent people, and they were out at that time of night.

No more horrible of me to say than "You did ask for it."

I know there are decent police officers. I've met a couple over the years. My interactions with Texas highway patrol have always been professional & civil. Most of the Alaska State Troopers I have spoken to have been alright as well. But I have come to understand that the profession tends to attract the highschool bullies more than any other demographic.

High school bullies generally have the attitude but not the intelligence or good will to be recruited as policemen.
Most cops are basically good-natured alpha's. Bullies are cowards, picking only on the weak and timid. They also, usually, have a record of irresponsible behavior and don't qualify.
At the end of the day, most likely a good thing they, Bullies, don't get hired.

And as I stated, there is way more to this story, or maybe the story had been not exactly truthful. There's a lot more than what has been written.
The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Or you are a liar with a mission.

So, getting back to IceBlock: I downloaded it for giggle purposes and found out two interesting things: You have to allow "Location" for you to be able to report an ICE siting and you have to be within 5 miles of the location you are reporting on.

So, for example, if I wanted to report an ICE location at an infamous illegal alien grocery store in Athens* from home, no can do. But, if I were to just happen to decide to take the wifey on a date night to Southern Table in downtown Athens, then - BOOM - I can report an ICE location at said infamous grocery store from the restaurant.

Funny how the grocery store parking lot was empty on the way home that night. :ROFLMAO:

For informational purposes only - of course.
