GM's final bankruptcy looks inevitable and recent numbers show why we believe this will be the end.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 2009 the US Government bailed out GM and in 2013 the Chinese did so once more. Now the numbers look very bad for their future. Lawsuits stemming from battery fires in their EV's or a class action lawsuit over quality issues in their line of V8 engines related to cam shafts and valve train components along with crank shafts, present a big hurdle as well.
Mary Barra and Joe Biden are delusional at best stating GM will be a leader in EV's with none to sell today. Our government is not in the financial position for a bail out either. But of course the Democrats will just print some more money behind the scenes.

I would hate to see them go because I loved their 50s and 60s cars. Still do. But they are not to big to fail. They should not have been bailed out the first time and I hope to hell Biden doesn't bail them out when they are in need. Probably wishful thinking though. :bonk:

I used to buy GM vehicles almost exclusively. Owned a fleet of GM trucks.

But then came the gubmint bailout.

Never buy a Gubmint Motors vehicle again, at least not until it is a free market company again after it rises from the ashes of a bankruptcy if it does it without gubmint bailout cash.

I came from a GM family growing up. But then along came a 1983 S10 Blazer Sport package.
At 55K miles one cam shaft lobe was gone, and the rear main oil seal was leaking like a screen door.
5K out of warranty. They would do nothing.
Since that time I have bought a couple of used GM cars, and one is still left, a Regal my youngest drives.
The rest of the fleet is now Dodge or Chrysler.
No more GM anything for me, ever.

i haven't had a GM product since the 80's. And I would never buy from Government Motors Corp.

I own 9 vehicles, all Chrysler. You might remember, Obama gave Chrysler to Fiat along with $25,000,000 of our money.

Ford made it through the 2010 recession on their own money. Chrysler assets saved Fiat who would have gone under. At least FIAT was run by car enthusiasts.

We just purchased our first brand new vehicle for Cathy in 23 years. Just like the last time, it was from Chrysler. A Pacifica with all the bells and whistles. Great car.

GM is still running the same as it did for decades. By bean counters and sales gimmicks. Car companies should be run by Car Enthusiast's. Not by copycat accountants amid Madison Avenue Hucksters.

Camaro copied the Mustang
Vega copied the Unibody
Cadillac's were Chevy's with different stickers on the dashboards

GM brings little or nothing innovative to the table. Never has. I applaud its failure.

We are about as open to most brands, as any people can be. Our garage looks like the United nations of vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and Quads. But the thing you won't find, and never will in our garage, is anything from Garbage Motors.
