The original theme of the founders was that a person should be able to keep the fruits of their labors.
This proposal actually meets the fundamentals of our founding.
Unlikely to pass in today's understanding of government.
For me, a fundamental constitutionalist, it appeals.
That said, don't hold your breath.
Prior to the revolution, everything was the property of the King. The land you worked, the buildings on it, the production of your labor. Even your children, were the property of the King.I would disagree, I don't think it does meet the fundamentals, because a large part of the fundamentals was LIMITED FEDERAL/CENTRAL control.
This does little to changing the center of power. It only changes the shifting of the tax code to simplify the code. Currently the lower income brackets already pay, after all the deductions, subsidies, contortions, etc, very low taxes. Many actually pay negative taxes. But that doesn't change the centralization of power.
THE OTHER things that are being proposed, like closing down agencies, MAY EVENTUALLY help meet more of the fundamentals of our founding. But only if codified by Congress with both the collection of the money and the powers to regulate shifting back to the states.
However with 80% or more making less than 150k all that tax money sure adds up. So I do not think this will ever happen. Once they have their hands in our pockets it only goes deeper, never comes out.It was never the intent of the Founders, to tax the income of the people.
YEP!However with 80% or more making less than 150k all that tax money sure adds up. So I do not think this will ever happen. Once they have their hands in our pockets it only goes deeper, never comes out.![]()
Not on the west coast. Up at least 20-30 cents. On a positive note, has anyone noticed that gasoline has dropped 19% since January 20th?
Thats 52 to 47 cents per gallon here in the Midwest.
Diesel, however, remains above $3.20 a gallon.
Is part of that the refinery issue, the only one? Or did Newsom add some more tax?Not on the west coast. Up at least 20-30 cents.
Same here in NW Wyoming. Although 3.15 a gallon instead of West Coast prices. Not on the west coast. Up at least 20-30 cents.
