Charlie Kirk shot at event in Utah

I know he has security but I also know there are some crazy people out there.

I think his logic is sound and he does a great job of correcting idiots in a polite and logical way.

Brief bit from THE DAILY CALLER: https://dailycaller.com/2025/09/10/charlie-kirk-turning-point-usa-gunfire-utah/

A source in contact with Kirk’s colleagues told the Daily Caller he is still alive in the hospital, though he lost a significant amount of blood. Another Turning Point USA official confirmed he is alive to CBS News, but said “it doesn’t look good.”

Good reporting from Stephan Dinan at the Washington Times, you can check the link for updates to the story below:

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot Wednesday while holding an event at Utah Valley University.
His condition was unknown as of 3 p.m. Eastern time.
Video of the event posted to social media showed Mr. Kirk speaking to a large crowd on the university’s quad when a bang is heard and Mr. Kirk’s body twitches. Other videos then show the crowd fleeing the site. Some social media users who said they were at the event said Mr. Kirk was shot in the neck.
FBI Director Kash Patel said he was deploying agents to the scene, and the school, in an alert, confirmed a “single shot was fired on campus toward a visiting speaker.”
“Police are investigating now, suspect in custody,” the school said.
The Deseret News reported the suspect was an “older man.”
President Trump asked for prayers.

“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom,” he said on social media.
Former Rep. Jason Chaffetz was at the event.
“I just hope and pray he somehow survives this,” he said on Fox News.
Mr. Chaffetz said there was some police presence but no security screening, and the quad is open to the broader community. He said the shot seemed to come from head-on.
He said it was shocking in a community as safe as Orem.

“We don’t have murders, let alone shootings, let alone something of this magnitude,” he said.
Mr. Kirk, 31, married with two children, was at the school in Orem, Utah, where his group Turning Point USA was hosting a back-to-school event. He engages with students in debating hot-button questions of the day.
The shot rang out when he was answering a question about mass shootings involving transgender suspects.
Mr. Chaffetz said he didn’t think that was a coincidence.

After a shooting last month at a Minnesota school was blamed on a transgender former student, Mr. Kirk was among the conservative activists who raised questions.
“If you are crazy enough to want to hormonally and surgically ’change your sex,’ you have a mental disorder, and you are too crazy to own a firearm,” he said on X.
Photos and video of Wednesday’s event showed Mr. Kirk sitting under a canopy speaking to the crowd.
Before the event, his social media account posted a photo of the large gathering and of him fist-bumping members of the audience.
Former Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was herself wounded in a shooting at an outdoor get-together with her Arizona constituents in 2011, said she was “horrified” by the new attack.
“Democratic societies will always have political disagreements, but we must never allow America to become a country that confronts those disagreements with violence,” said Ms. Giffords, who now leads a gun-control group.

MSNBC’s Mathew Dowd Suggests Charlie Kirk Deserved To Be Shot

MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd suggested on Wednesday that Charlie Kirk’s rhetoric made him a natural target for violence.
Kirk was shot during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and the suspect is in custody, according to school officials. Dowd argued on “Katy Tur Reports” that Kirk’s “hate speech” inevitably led to him being shot.
“[H]e’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups,” Dowd said. “And I always go back to: hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.”
“And I think that’s the environment we’re in. People just, you can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place,” he continued. “And that’s the unfortunate environment we’re in.”

Fuck this guy.

So sad. We are praying for his family.

If I had to single out one person who contributed the most to the re-election of DJT it would be Charlie Kirk. His TPUSA turning out the vote was legendary. This is all such a great loss in so many ways.

If these left wing terrorists are not brought to bear and quickly, I fear this country is heading into oblivion or civil war of some form. Keep pushing and eventually you get pushed back. I will leave it all in that.:furious:

No matter what Charlie Kirk said, there is no excuse for this violence. NONE!

"I believe we are currently engaged in a cold civil war, and it's increasingly likely to get hot."
Slant Eyed Polack

I agree.
Conservatives are critized for being "Gun Hungry." But this level of violence tends to come only from the left.
Why?

BREAKING — Man arrested at the scene is not the shooter. The Charlie Kirk shooter is still at large. The assassin reportedly fired from a building approximately 200 yards away.

CNN Senior Political Commentator Scott Jennings reflected on Charlie Kirk’s legacy, calling him “one of the most unique and special people in the conservative movement today.”

“He was able to convince people to get involved in politics that might not have otherwise done so,” Jennings told CNN’s Kasie Hunt today following news of his death.

He went on to call Kirk “a Godly person,” “unapologetic about his views,” “enormously courageous” and “enormously influential.”

“He was leading people. He was influencing people. When he did something, when he said something, when he took a stand on an issue, you can bet that people would move,” Jennings said.

He was asking questions an making statements at the event saying “Prove me wrong.”
By shooting him they proved him right.
F’ing loser liberals.
