Now I'm relaxing by the firepit in the back yard. I stained the swing seat and bench this afternoon as well. I've been wanting to get it done for 5 yrs. The electric spray gun did it in 20 minutes.
Got the liability insurance quote started for my son, as soon as he has insurance I am out of business and retired, we decided that the job we are working on now, the fabrication is almost done so that will stay mine, the installation that starts at the end of September we will do it together and split the proceeds, then I ride off into the sunset.
The son taking the reins and you ride off into the sunset. The rewards of building a family business and handing it off to offspring who helped and now deserve to run it. Congrats and applause for a job well done. 
And now it is also time to get off your butt and finish the cabin. No more excuses dude.

Feet up and relax, yea right, I have the cabin to finish, truck projects, a kitchen and bathroom remodel after the cabin etc. All retiring will do is give me time to catch up on things that didn’t get done yet but should have. I do plan on traveling in between though. The honey do list is a couple years long.
She's been working on that list for some time. Best take care of it because she is worth the effort.
I spent 1/2 the summer on it this year and it’s turning the corner, I might get in another trip or two before the snow flies.The son taking the reins and you ride off into the sunset. I would like to get at least 1 coat of varnish on the walls this year, the weather and work will determine if that happens. And yes the kid deserves to take over, he has been taking my crap at work since he was 12 when he started working in the shop in the summer, he is 35 now, he should do better than me, I was 45 when I started with 1 customer, he has many and is 10 years younger going in, his skills and work ethics are good, plus the customers like him. Now saddling the horse for the sunset ride.

I hear you. I've been on permanent disability since age 35. Now 48. We moved in here in 2019. I'm finally getting caught up on a few things outside here. We already did the kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I can finally take a breath and hopefully get some hunting time in this fall. I'm sticking with grouse and deer this year. Just waiting for it to get colder. Hunting is always better after the first heavy frost.
Ridgeline and Venza both needed oil changes. Took them to the quick change shop in town. That pretty much killed the morning.
Afternoon was doing yard-work. Saved tree from an errant grape vine that was strangling it. Turned that into mulch. Filled a hole with ash and compost from last weeks burn pile. Mowed the 'valley' area between our steep hill and the creek to our north.
Did some grading work between the garden and the old shed; it was a mound we built 25 years ago, when we had a pool down there. Now it's just good topsoil, so I dug it out and incorporated it into the the ash and other stuff that is in the mound at the burn pile. I'm shocked at how much organic material did NOT burn, especially considering it burned for 4.5 days. I did a good bit of 'mixing' the material that is in the pile. Even after filling the "hole', which took 4 full buckets, the pile actually grew in size from the grading work that I did. But that was a good thing. That was black dirt and organic matter.
So prime material for garden beds next spring. I do have some debris in the pile, I will need to make a sifter and get rid of some of that debris to keep it out of the garden beds.
Tonight I was at fencing. Combo of work and fun. Worked with a student whose grandfather died and will miss a class tomorrow. But had fun with several others for the second half of the session.

I'm out at camp for the weekend. Left unsupervised without upper management looking over me until she who must be obeyed arrives tomorrow night. I came out with the plans of resealing the roof on the camper today. Instead, I dug a new grey water drain for the camper the crawled into a beer or 3. 
Got my flu shot at work, then hung around for a while to give some to the residents on the rehab wing.

Years ago I built anaddition to the garage. Concrete floor 24' X 6' framed off into a shop and a garden impalement shed. Never finished them so,,,,; they became catchalls for any and everything. Two days now removing all and installing shelving to hold supplies, nails screw staples etc, and tools in the 16'X6' space. Also, a rack for 4'X8' sheathing. Finished that this evening. Tomorow, I will return much of the stuff to the new shelving. Hopefully organized so I can find things.
Now I have room for all my hand and power tools.
The front two feet get a base cabinet and Formica top. I have an opening, hexagon, window for the front wall. I'll talk Crumpy into pictures when completed.

Up at 5:30am to head to south to Purdue. Stopped (it's the wrong direction) to pick up 2 kids to take them with me. Lots of Epee fencers today. No Foilists showed up. A handful of Saber fencers. Kind of a waste of my time. There was a home game yesterday, so most of the fencers were hungover. I hope they get that out of their system soon, we have tournaments coming up.
Got home in time to spread out some driveway sealer on the driveway. Only did 3 buckets. Got 7 more. Probably will need another 10 after I finish the 7 I have left after today. But I also had to do some power washing.
Now sitting and watching some TV show that I'm obviously not paying attention to.

Ran to the hospital pharmacy (the other side of the county) to pick up some meds.
Also dropped off some of Kobe's 'toddler age' toys to my nephew for his toddler age son. I was dropping them at my cousins house, (his mom) because she lives a few blocks from the hospital. Got there and no answer at the door. So I left them behind her gate and sent a text. Turns out she had fallen and broke her wrist/hand. So she was at the hospital. I guess I could have loaded them into her car
Stopped at the store picked up some food, cleaning supplies, etc.
Came home and, in the 86(F) sunshine I spread 6 buckets of extra thick asphalt sealer. I should have stopped at 4. So now I'm a sweat puddle, sitting in the comfort of the air conditioning, trying to pour fluids down my throat.
Also dropped off some of Kobe's 'toddler age' toys to my nephew for his toddler age son. I was dropping them at my cousins house, (his mom) because she lives a few blocks from the hospital. Working on the garage addition today. At the very bottomof a pile of 4X8 plyood panels are 24 sheets of siding. I want to put some of them on the inside walls.. I cannot believe how much a 4X8 of 3/4" treated plywood weighs. I have 6 of them for a future roof project but they are at the top of the pile. Must be 90 lbs.
I remember putting them there and it wasn't near as a hard to lift them.
Later this year I have to lift them onto the new roof.
That will be a fun day!
