Would you be talk'in 'bout the whomp'in biscuits?
The kind you gotta whomp on the side of the counter to get open?
This sounds gooooood. BUT the kids and I can't afford the calories....it just made me think....if I said that to my 5 yearold he would say, "me know, me know mommy, we can't afford the gas". :yum: Poor kid.
Back on topic.....what about doing the same thing with eggs, browned sausage and, and cheese?

Never heard of them as "whop" biscuits but I'm a foreigner from the north.

The kids (me too) love the good old weiner roll-ups. I think the recipe is on the can. Basically, split a hot dog, put some cheddar cheese in the center and wrap it in a Crescent Roll - then bake. :thumb:

Pull-Apart Coffee Cake

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup golden or dark raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, almonds or pine nuts
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 can (12 oz) Pillsbury® Golden Layers® refrigerated buttermilk or original flaky biscuits

DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 375°F. Line bottom of 8- or 9-inch round cake pan with waxed paper. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except biscuits.
2. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Cut each into quarters. Place biscuit pieces in sugar mixture; toss to coat. Arrange in single layer in waxed paper-lined pan. Sprinkle top with any remaining sugar mixture.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until deep golden brown. Run knife around side of pan to loosen. Place heatproof serving plate upside down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Remove pan and waxed paper. Cut coffee cake into wedges or pull apart. Serve warm.

Yep. AW knows it. Whop biscuits or Whomp biscuits. The canned biscuits you whomp/whop on the counter to bust open. First time I heard this, I thought the lady was telling me about drop biscuits!

PG, great looking recipe! I love tex mex. Think I'll try it and add a little cilantro, chopped onion and some jalapeno/habenero peppers. Yum!

Doesn't anyone else use whop biscuits for anything?

BUMPPPPPPP!!!

Why yes, Letecia, I did today.
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!btw, if you happen to look in!:yum: (check your email too) haha

1 can Pillsbury Grands! (8)
14.75 oz can of pink salmon
1 medium onion-chopped
3 T mayo
4 oz Velveeta (1/2 small block) cubed
1/2 t dill weed

Separate biscuits and roll each one out into a round, being careful not to make them too thin.

Mix drained salmon, onion, mayo, cheese and dill weed.

Place as much salmon filling into center of 4 biscuit rounds as you can.
Place another biscuit round ontop and gently press the edges all around, then either flip the edges up, and/or seal, crimping with a fork.

Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
