Where do you get your Directions?

Deadly Sushi

The One, The Only, Sushi
Google Maps?

Yahoo?

Mapquest?

Something else?

Personally Ive been using Mapquest since 1996 and I have been led astray too often. I JUSt started using Google Maps and have discovered they give directions (routes) that make a LOT of sense! More so than Mapquest!

Hmmmm
Well to tell the truth usually I get directions from my sister. She's a walking talking map of Minnesota!
But if I'm lacking my big sister I go for my big 'ol mapbook! Cuz I'm old school like that!
So far as internet maps go... Mapquest. They have a better established system. I know what I'm typing where.
Although google has the walk-about feature which is super cool!
:\ I dunno. This is a very simple complex question...

What's these things you call directions? Don't sound like guy talk to me :yum:

Mapquest and Garmin. Look them over and pick which route suits ME cause I am driving and they aint!

My 'man card' is still gone

If I just have to have directions, it is usually a Thomas Guide book. We have a couple other brands of books when I'm on the fire engine.

Mapquest is ok, but on their maps they do this stipple pattern that I find hard to read. My wife will print those things out, then neither of us can read them.

I have maps, a compass, and a GPS for hiking. I only have topo stuff loaded in the GPS, no city map stuff.

We live in a rural area; Mapquest ect and GPS's will take you on some weird routes out here...

Yeah its in a foreign language. :shifty:
No, the maps look like a freaking plate of spaghetti, twists and turns, A roads, B roads, motorways.. etc...
Nothing is in a straight line!!:yum:

I use a map map. GPS doesn't always work around here, so if you dont have a map you are stuffed.

Its amazing how many people cant read a map, use a compass, take bearings and grid references etc.

PG,
In other threads, you and others have mentioned A roads, B roads, motorways.

What are they? Do they have some equivalent in the US? I have only driven in the US, Alberta Canada, and St Thomas USVI. St Thoma was interesting, driving on the wrong side of the road with a left hand drive car though.

A roads are similar to a state route.
B roads, like a back country road.. hardly any traffic.
Motorway- like our Interstates/Highways

I hated the motorway, and would have gladly taken a B road to get to any destination lol
