What are your hobbies?

Great pic Franc. Your wife sure looks proud standing next to her SRT Coupe. Just don't race her with your roadster. Ain't got a chance pal.

Here is my current one following a long list of them through my life. This folks is NCOWS (National Congress of Old West Shootest). The idea is to be historically accurate in both firearms and dress in a time period of 1867 to 1899. I fit in at about 1894 period. Oh and shooting is not so much time as accuracy is more important as a miss cost severely. Pistol targets are 6" diamond shaped targets at 25 to 30 yards, rifle are 50 to 60 yards about 12" square or cowboy shaped. Picture below is my Rossi R92 or copy of Winchester 1892 lever action. It shoots 45 Colt as do my 1873 Colt replicas.

My other and longest hobby is car racing. My 90 Mustang GT setup for American Iron Road Racing.

We live in the same house and work in the same building. Yet we drive both cars as daily drivers. Combined gas milage 13 MPG.
Unless we are racing home, then FO-Get-Aboot-it!

I almost won ,,,,,once.

But it is OK. Even after 43 years, I truly love looking at her @ss all the way home.

Just returned to saltwater aquariums concentrating in corals and their propagation. Currently have a 90 mixed reef (with fish), 40 show (it's really my wife's but I help  ), two 40 breeders for coral propagation, and another 40 for spare live rock. ............. **The full size pic of my tank is shitty because I was experimenting with 2 different spectrum bulbs**

Big Dog,

This is way cool! I had no idea. Never owned an aquarium, but have always looked longingly at them.....

Best regards, Kirk

Amazing stuff there Big Dog.

But,

wouldit not be cheaper to buy a wet suit, flippers and a plane ticket for Aruba?

Your photos remind me of a sailing vacation to the Carribean Windwards/Tobago Keys reef.

Cathy and I spent days snorkeling over miles of untouched virgin reefs there. Breathtaking and frankly a life changing experience.

Beautiful, Big Dog.

I have a fair appreciation of the corals and know how difficult and EXPENSIVE they can can be to propagate and manage.

WOW! How long have you been investing time and effort into this amazing and rewarding hobby? I take it you are retailing the bounty?
.

Sitting on my tractor is some of my happiest times . Second would be in Panama working with the guys and watching the kids grow up .Hunting has always been up there but I have no need for the meat now and would just as soon sit on the deck swing and watch the Elk Babies in the front pasture . Its hard to beat that when I am holdin Mama's hand too .

I used to do a lot of photography.

Still have an old NIKON F2a film camera. Love my decade+ old Panasonic Lumix GX1. They finally upgraded the GX series, but I have no desire to spend the money on a new version that gives me a more mega-pixels and wifi. Still uses the same lenses as my older variant.

I did buy a new lens for indoor action shooting that has a wide aperture allowing faster shutter speeds indoors.

Cycling, board games and cooking
Olympic style fencing. Woodworking. Dogs. Gardening. Shooting sports;

I used to include hunting but that ended years ago. I still like guns and gun collecting, but have not hunted in many years.

Photograph. I love it but have little time for it.

I like fixing things... All kinds of stuff.. I think if you can fix stuff yourself it feels good!

I guess that is a good Hobby if any :)

I agree although these days I'm so old and decrepit that I do a lot of my fixing with my checkbook.

I used to love bird hunting but haven't done it in many years. I never was a deer hunter but through necessity I am a hog hunter. I still like to shoot but don't do that often enough though I still seem to spend about the same amount of time cleaning guns.

I used to enjoy photography and woodworking but don't seem to do much of those anymore either.

Another thing I don't do much of anymore is fishing. I still do some but not nearly as much as I used to.

I still enjoy running my tractors and mowers.

I just reread my post and it sounds as if I am just waiting around to die. I assure you that is not the case. It's just as I've got older, things take a lot longer to do so there is less time in the day to fit other stuff in.

I too swing a pretty mean checkbook...
After wearing out my body a lot, working hard for 45-years, keeping it running is now my top priority. :)
All of the ""chores"" that DW can't do, are done when I 'call the man'.
On topic: My hobby today is shaking the Stock Dividend trees to keep the ca$h raining down on me! 🤑

  1. Tractoring
  2. Motorcycles (Harley-Davidson)
  3. Flying (mostly Piper products)
  4. Working (too much)
  5. Green Bay Packer fan (Yes, even this year :drink: )
  6. About to start on the new house on the 75 acres
That's about enough.

(edit) 7. Studying the Cameltoe thread...:a1:

Wow. 21 years ago.
1. Still have the tractor.
2. Motorcycles are long gone. Now we SxS.
3. I built a plane and have been flying that since 2015.
4. Now I'm a business owner since 2009, gown to the point of running itself and I'm semi-retired
5. Will give up the season tickets next year because I don't care any more.
6. This thanksgiving we'll have been in the house 20 years, complete with a runway for the above mentioned plane.

7. Huh? Now I'll have to look for that one...

You left out duck care🙄

I study military history. That's such a wide topic I concentrate on WWII.
A little WWI, Civil War, and American Revolution thrown in for variety.
Warfare itself hasn't changed much since the times of the Roman Legions, weapons change men don't.
I avoid Vietnam, brings up too many memories I'd rather not deal with.

I mainly read - several hours each evening. The TV is only turned on for a few hours per YEAR. My wife hates the Idiot Box more than I do.
I'll have 6 or 7 books "working" at any given time, switching between them. I've got 400 or more books in my library, but then i've been buying these books for many years.
I also subscribe to a number of related magazines.

I've been studying WWII since I was a pre-teen in the aftermath of the war.

And just where have YOU been, buster?
😊

And an expensive one.
At one time we had 3 horses, now we just have one.
Yes it is, except they are all registered. When the horses foal, and I do some ground training on them, they should bring in $4,000 each. The Scottish Highland calves should bring in $4000 - $6000 each. The rest of the calves $3500+ each. They will pay for themselves.
