Tesla Sales Collapse 50% in Europe

The reality is that the media is to blame for this drop in sales because they demonized this man who revolutionized the auto industry. I still have zero desire to buy one of his cars, but I can admire and acknowledge his achievements.

Perhaps the revamped Model Y will help the brand's sales recover? Perhaps the Robo-Tax service will also benefit the company? Time will tell.

Tesla’s Europe sales plunge 49% on brand damage, rising competition

BERLIN, GERMANY - MARCH 31: A Tesla car dealership stands doused in blue paint following vandalism by activists of the group New Generation on March 31, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. The group used blue paint to protest Tesla company owner Elon Musk's support of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party, which uses the same color in its logo. Protests are taking place against Tesla across Europe and North America this week. (Photo by Omer Messinger/Getty Images)
European sales of Tesla vehicles plunged in April, as the U.S. electric car maker continues to face reputational damage regionally and rising competition.
Tesla sold 7,261 cars in Europe in April, down 49% year on year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, or ACEA. That drop came even as overall battery electric car sales rose 34.1% annually in April.
Tesla’s brand value and reputation have declined since 2024 due largely to CEO Elon Musk’s incendiary rhetoric and political activities.
In Germany, Musk formally endorsed the far-right AfD party ahead of the country’s parliamentary election earlier this year. Tesla has also clashed with Scandinavian labor groups.
In the U.S., Musk spent nearly $300 million to re-elect U.S. President Donald Trump, and has led an initiative for the Trump administration to slash federal agencies. In response, protests erupted at Tesla dealerships across Europe.
Tesla sales tanked nearly 40% year on year over the January-April period. . . . STORY CONTINUES ^^^

Electric or not, they are Fugly! How about hiring Pinanfarina to design the looks instead of geeky college kids? There only so many people that don't care how a car looks.
No matter what angle a Tesla is observed from, it's ugly!

To bad for Tesla and all it's employees. Musk should have kept his political views to himself. His company was fine until he got involved with Trump & Company. No one wanted to hear his B.S. I know I did not!

You're right about that for sure. People don't see that part of it though. They just see another billionaire trying to change the world. I'm saying it's to bad it came at such a cost to him and his company.

Perhaps if they made it look like one of these, there would be more interest.

Honestly I think most people do see it.

Not sure why you don't.

There is ample evidence to disprove your statement.

What most people don't understand is that he was only an 'advisor' and while he exposed the fraud he couldn't stop it.

And by "most people" what I mean is the majority of the American population. At least based on several reliable polls.

The people who are upset about Musk are actually in the minority, largely wealthy, privileged white liberals, and, also based on reliable polls, largely women.

Heck even the country "right direction" vs "wrong direction" is showing 50% of the population, for the first time in the history of the polling data, is showing "right direction" (and that is based on a 3 day rolling average of the data and it has never been that high. Same time point last year it was 32%.

So when you say he should have kept his mouth shut, to that you and I (as a Tesla investor) can agree. Because when he bought Twitter and turned it into a free speech platform the world's liberals and the establishment media turned their back on him because he exposed the government-media censorship operation by releasing damning documents. So doing the 'right thing' cost him a lot of customers. Then he exposed hundreds of billions in waste, fraud and abuse and again the same media and the same government bureaucracy called him a nazi, and demonized him, literally attacked his properties, people's cars, etc, as they became unhinged because they lost access to our tax dollars when funding of shell and sham organizations was terminated.

as they became unhinged because they lost access to our tax dollars when funding of shell and sham organizations was terminated...... Obviously, I am way way misinformed. Makes me wonder where I've been getting my information. I tried to jump in on a post I apparently, know nothing about. Melensdad, I honestly apologize.

Zero reason to apologize.

But with so many traditional news sources admitting they are putting their thumb on the scale and have switched to advocacy journalism, it is actually necessary to source news materials from many sources and find the truth in between them all.
