so sleepy lately-

luvs

'lil yinzer~
has anyone experienced sudden stages where they have really odd snooze schedules~ usually i cannot snooze for love nor $$. other times i'll drift for a solid 6 hours, plus.

for the past week or so, i drift to dreamland each few hours, usually @ my 'puter, & it'll hit me all of a sudden. usually i'm a challenge to sedate, despite several meds, & some rather potent ones @ that. i know some of it is lack of nutrition- if i miss a day of food, i pretty much lose my appetite. then i'm too tired to bother cooking & live on pop & that. i'm sure that is quite a contributing factor, although usually i am rather energetic regardless of if i have dined or not. i take nutritional supplements like ensure & the likes of that, vitamins, minerals, etc.
i don't digest properly, tho this has been known for several months. i just went to 2 doctor's appts. this week. i needed to cancel another due to fatigue. my labs were perfect @ the others, my weight the exact same as last appt. a month ago, bp 100/58. the doctor was quite . tho @ the specialist i saw directly before her, hehe, my bp was 20 pts. higher & my heartrate 10 bpm higher, as i dislike him that much.

i was ill several weeks ago w/ some sorta bug, tho this is completely new to me. thoughts on this would be appreciated.

It is 1:15 in the morning and I am on FF same as you are.:whistling: I have been taking naps lately but the doc thinks it is just the anemia from my screwed up blood counts. And I am a lot older than you.:yum: My biggest thing is not being able to sleep more than 3-4 hours without waking up. Then it takes me a while to go back to sleep again.:hammer:

I always sleep 4-6 hrs only.
My mind cannot allow me to rest more.. unless I am ill.
Been known to sleep 12 plus then.

That said, I intend to flop and laze around.. taking my time 'rousing tomorrow morn, as I have my long weekend off to look forward to after already being off for 2 weeks.

muleman, yeah, we're a crew of nightowls (that's the way i get tho, on purpose, then naturally. daylite, if u can call it that in my often grey city is not appreciated here. anemia! ingenious thought. i get anemic sometimes & i'm kinda pale lately. i think my physician checked my basic metabolic panel & a few other labs. she called to say they were good later that day. uncertain if basic metabolic panels check for anemia- )~ would u know, lollie.......)
i ingest so much redd meat, tho. & my vitamins have iron in 'em. i'll hafta pull an eyelid & check if it's pale.
lollie, i zonk like that when ill. hours & hours. i think i'm not meant to snooze much, either. from the school daze, i'd hop from that to shower @ 4:30 in the morning then bolt to my couch to catch a few minutes of drifting. ugh. often went on like an hour's snooze, then. have a great time lounging tomorrow; reminds me of tig & babbit as they wake all snuggled in one of my comforters, stretching, yawning, & basking if there is sunshine that day. ^_^

thx, yinz 2

have a great time lounging tomorrow
Will do.
Some think I went back to work too early after being in hospital.
Maybe so.
Last 3 days have been okay.
Wednesday was the worst.
I looked and felt like shit, but each day got better.
They've asked me already if I can pick up Sunday.
No.
No.
No.
Even though I was off sick, I am back on schedule.
If they aren't.. that's not my problem.:glare:

maybe you have SAD....

i've already checked w/ my visiting nurse in the autum on that. good thought, although i am in love w/ winter, like spring & tolerate summer. i dislike autumn & get weepy & have mood swings during it.

she isn't thinking it's SAD. thanx, tho.

yeah, they need to be understanding, lollie. yep, it's thier problem, not yours, like u said. my poor friend just underwent (laprascopic) gall bladder surgery & is due to begin her job as a nurse, herself. she was in some pain. she's really excited- i'm not so certain she know's that that she's in for quite yet tho. how're u doin these days now that you've gotten your surgery~

I didn't have surgery.
I had a procedure.. the 4th known as an ERCP.
I am fine.
They removed a stent that had been in place for far too long and it caused some major problems.

I wished I could 4 hours like I used to. Now it is about an hour of sleep then up and down all night long. I've not been able to go to sleep lately till 2 - 3 AM then up at 4, then nap from 5 to 6 only to get up till bed time the next night. Perhaps it comes with age but it sue can be a drag though for most of my life I was good for 4 to 5 hours max.

Well, hate to say it, but blogging on FF's, especially in the winter, is a sure sign of depression. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but sometimes a nap seems so easy, so justified, so easily rationalized.

The last time I could sleep all night, I was probably 12 or so. Now I'm lucky to sleep four hours.
As a Firefighter Paramedic I seldom got a full nights's sleep. After I retired I guess my body just couldn't handle a long snooze.

21 year old cat keeps me up at 2:00 AM and at 6:00 AM for her feeding. It's like having a baby in the house all over again.

No, She's not my cat. I am her Human.

Still, I find, like you are doing LUV, that urge to just drift off. Sudden afternoon lethargy is sometimes the result of thirst. So a 12 oz water often solves it for me. You might look into your hydration level and water intake.

It could also be poor circulation. The next time you feel sleepy, excercise you legs. Do a stairs once or twice. See if you brighten up a bit.

That means possible poor circulation from the lower legs.

Posting seems to increase around here during the winter months.
I wouldn't attach depression to it.
I'd more say people are stuck inside with their televisions, computers, lap tops and not much else to do other than go around forums and post in political discussion threads (for example) then wear themselves out, thus rendering them tired and weary.. then heading off to a bed, couch, floor.. anywhere, to get some blessed relief :yum:

Perhaps Kane was excercising a self diagnosis.

That'd be a shame. He is such a nice guy.
I do hope he gets well soon.:flowers:

yeah, i know, yours wasn't surgical. glad you're better now.

made myself have a fast snack before i lay last nite. made dinner tonite- sleepy yet.
frank, i drink plenty of fluids- tho the thouht of taking a quick stretch, mabe a quick stroll would wake me, i think.

joe, was like that, a few hrs or less nap & i was on for the whole day. course, i was on steroids. just prednisone. doc said as they tapered 'em, i'd need some rest. she wasn't whistlin dixie!

def not depressed. bored, maybe. despise napping. then i can't snooze when i'd prefer to.
getting sick & tired of waking all achy from drfting in the oddest, unexpected angles.

I am on here, and another small food forum (not regularly).
That's about it.
My posting time, and "lurking without being logged in" time varies..:yum:

usually i stay logged on when i'm not here or busy, 1 place not by choice. i clear cookies & often hafta re-type my info to get on eah time if i click the 'x' button. so sometimes it looks like i'm on/lurking 99% of my day/nite. meh.

oh, i'm a forum addict. no shame. just like my lack of shame of my Golden Girls addiction. on now as i type, in fact~ suppose i'm cross-addicted.:yum:

good people like ones that make me laugh when they remember how i say, 'girl'. hahahaha!~ good memory.:flowers:
