Pope Francis Dies At 88

I believe we will likely have another liberal Pope who succeeds Pope Francis. While I long for some additional tradition and a return toward that wing of leadership, I just don't believe it will happen.

And from Sky News:

I agree with Bob.
The next Pope will more than likely be of the liberal persuasion.
I grew up with photos of Paul Vl photos in our home, and the home of my Grandparents.
Then came the blessing to the world of John Paul ll ❤️
There will NEVER be another of his kind.
I adored him.

Next? 🤔

He is very conservative. That is what the Church needs.
However, he is in his late eighties.
His reign would be short.

I think the main objection to him is his conservative/traditional view and his criticism of the leftist ideology. Considering that Pope Francis has many allies in the conclave, it seems very unlikely that we will see a Pope who would lead like we presume Cardinal Sarah would.

FWIW, there are 133 Cardinals that will vote for the new Pope. 108 of those Cardinals were installed by Pope Francis. So for those of us who are looking for a conservative/fundamentalist Pope, we may well be disappointed. One would presume that Pope Francis probably appointed Cardinals that were more of his Jesuit line of thinking. Certainly there is no guarantee but it does seem likely.

We have a new Pope.

From Chicago. Dual citizen of the US and Peru. He speaks Latin, Spanish and Italian, in addition to English.

Supposed to be a bit more conservative than Pope Francis, and less traditional than Saint Pope John Paul II, but all that is yet to be seen.

CNN is suggesting that he will continue with the "reforms" that Pope Francis started.

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of the United States has been elected the 267th pope and will soon step onto the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica as the new leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics.
Prevost, 69, from Chicago, Illinois, is the first ever pope from the United States. He will be known as Leo XIV.
A leader with global experience, he spent much of his career as a missionary in South America and most recently led a powerful Vatican office for bishop appointments. He is expected to build on Pope Francis’ reforms.

Reactions: Doc
My only question is will this one do something more than simply moving the molesters out of their current parish into another?
I don't believe anything else has been done. Maybe I'm wrong.

Welcome to the new Pope Dope, same as the old Pope Dope. Lots of us in this world do not give two shits in hell for this guy who sits inside his walled city and preaches to the West that we need to open our borders to the dregs of the world.

If they choose to align themselves with satanic liberalism, socialism and communism let them do it. I'm not a part of this bullshit.

Rumor has it he is a CUBS fan.

But we still don't know if the Vatican cafeteria will start serving Maxwell Street Polish Sausage and Vienna Chicago Style Hot dogs.
