Photoshopped or not?

My wife got these pictures that I find questionable. Follows is the text that accompanied the e-mail. If these are authentic, I will remain in AWE!

Look at this moose!

By the length of his beard and the gray legs, he must be

over 10 years old. He looks to be well over 8 feet at the

top of the shoulder hump, and with his head up, the
height to the top of his antler must be about 12 feet.

This guy is king of the forest. No bear or pack of wolves

would dare come after him when he has this rack!


.... Considering that a dirt road can fit a car across ... this

fellow is HUGE!

THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN IN ELLIOT LAKE , ONTARIO,

CANADA.

Yes it is a regular size dirt road.

They are Authentic Big Dog , I found out after seeing them several other places , But that is not a regular size road , its a 4 wheeler path . The Pics were taken by a ground or low level game cam from what I understand , Which makes it appear to be much bigger because of the angle . But its still a big moose . Bob

The cynic in me says photo shop. If it is real, I would worry that the moose would be taken out by a trophy hunter.

While I don't know if it's ok to dig up an old post and reply.. I do know this is a photo shopped set of pics. How do I know? Because I've done similar pics myself. What was done here is very easy to do. You take an image and paste it over a back-ground. Simple. The hard part of making it believable is getting the shadows in there. You might look at the trees casting shadows on the "road" but not the moose?
You decide.

All along the edges of the moose photo it is disproportionate and fuzzy, blurry.....IMO

I,ll Admit I dont know anything about photoshop Fakes . But I do know this isn,t Photo shopped as I stated before . So We,ll agree to disagree . Its Obvious By the Beard ( dewlap ) from first to the second pics is Swinging with the correct movement of the moose . The second pic Clearly shows the light comin through the trees on the lower left side of the legs Throwing a little bit of a different shadow on the path .

If You look real Close to the right just passed whatevers laying across the road You can see a slight shadow of the Beard thats not in the first pic in the patch of light on the 4 wheeler path . Keep in Mind this is a 4 wheeler path & Thats not an overlly large moose . You Decide .

I've seen this pic several times and never really decided but I will say that there are places where spruce trees just don't get much more than ten-twelve feet tall. And that combined with a 5 or 6 foot wide trail would make a 1200? pound animal seem even bigger.

This is "Big Bob", a local moose. He's no relation to "big AL", or "Big Dog". He came over and pestered me when I was trying to put in a service for some River Raft Guides, just outside Denali Park. I had a full 10 Ft. Stick of 2" Rigid conduit, on top of a 200 Amp Meter scocket that was just over 6' off the ground and was trying to stuff some wires down into the socket when he came by. I was on a 28 Ft. Extension ladder leaning against the phone pole(don't tell the Safety Guy. he'll have a fit!)At the weatherhead was right at 16'6" off the ground I was amazed that his "Rack" was just as high. There was a big nasty swarm of mosquitoes and deer flys all around him. It was rather intimidating as a couple years earlier a professor was trompled to death by a much smaller cow at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and they kept showing it over and over again on TV. I was glad when he and his onterage moved on. Later that evening a hunting guide at the North Star Inn, a big Man Camp I was staying at in Healy Ak, told me that "Big Bob" was a PARK-MOOSE. AND went on to explain that they had sense enough to stay in the protected area of the National Park where they couldn't be hunted. I figgured that the hunting guide was just 'jerking-my-chain'. But several months later another hunting guide from Fairbanks told me the same story. I can honestly say I've been within 20 ft of a moose whose rack was 16+ feet off the ground.
I'm going to venture a guess that this picture is from Alaska, and trees near the Arctic circle don't grow to be more than about 20' tall. "PARK MOOSE!"

There's actually a little more to this story: The River Raft Guides house that I was installing the Electrical Service on the pole for was only used seasonally. The house was at the end of a road and they didn't plow the last quarter mile or so in the winter as no one was there. The local Power Company is Golden Valley Electric, and their man from the Metering Department made me position the meter so that he could read the meter thru a spotting scope that was mounted on the dash of his built-up 4 wheel drive service truck. He drove up to the spot where they stop plowing, and had me move the meter around until he could read it. Normally Meter Sockets are mounted so that the center of the meter is right at 6 ft, sometimes lower in case they have short meter readers. He made me put it up just a tad. I would guess that a call to the Golden Valley Electric office, in NENANA Alaska, could resolve this question. Ask for the "Meter-Guy". He can probably send you some new current pictures with more stuff in the pictures to guage the actual size by. Oh, yes,.. they won't be "Photo-shopped" he's a pretty honest dude!
There is a good Photoshopped picture of a grizzly on an Oil-Filed truck at this nasty little red-neck bar called the Howling Dog Saloon, in Fox Alaska, just north of Fairbanks. There's a guy with a rifle, whose not as tall as the deck of the tractor trailer, the Bear's arm is hanging down nearly to the road, the bed is 40 feet long and the bear takes up the whole thing. The Captian reads: TAKEN LOCALLY IN FOX Maybe one of our snow-cat owners in Fbx can post a copy, it's outrageous!
