I liked this guy in a lot of the varied roles he played.

Died with a needle in his arm.

I may like his work but I can't say I respect him.

Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead of an apparent drug overdose — in the bathroom with a hypodermic needle still in his arm — inside a Greenwich Village home on Sunday morning, cops said.

A personal assistant found Hoffman’s body in the apartment at 35 Bethune St. and called 911 around 11:30 a.m, sources said.

Heroin was found in the pad, law-enforcement sources said.

The star was fully clothed when found.

Cops are at the scene and are investigating, sources said.

The dude loved the drugs more than his own kids. 'nuff said. At least he probably left them a bunch of money so they can be trust fund junkies now.
 
I hate to see anyone piss off their life with drugs but hey, it was his life he can do with it what he wants. I wasn't a fan.
 
These people know exactly what they are doing. There is something about that warm rush of opiated pleasure - even on the edge of death - that makes the risk acceptable. Poppies can be forever.
