PG's What's Goin' On Thread

I'm surprised I made it through my day at work.
I've got a cold/ virus from hell coming on.
Started to fee like shit this morning then it worsened around 7 and all went downhill from there.
Achy, stuffy nose, scratchy throat.
Need to get some rest.

Sounds about like what I have been fighting. I blame it on getting my first ever flu shot last week. The cold rain and getting wet don't help matters either.:hammer:
 
Took some stuff to fight off the symptoms of the same shit last night. Just got up after sleeping 8 solid hours...I usually sleep 5-6. It's all in my head, so it could just be allergies with this fucked up weather. Thank goodness I made it through the canoe trip weekend without being held down from drinking.
 
My sister is still hanging in..
I hate working weekends, 'specially tomorrow as I'll miss most of THE GAME.
Gretchen puked on the carpet this evening (real men don't eat quiche, apparently female Dachshunds can't stomach it either)-
The forums have been strange this eve.. but that happens.

Jan ,and I just finished stacking around 2 cords of wood that We cut and split this weekend . It'll burn well during the winter of '16 :biggrin: We've got about 4-5 more cord to do on this load ,so no matter what We'll at least be warm in our old age .

Actually Doc , I believe that We're doing wood for 2018 ,but didn't want to brag :yum:
Nope , it's not off of our place . We are actually planting about 40-60 trees a year here. (locust,oak ,and Osage ).
I try to find land clearing companies ,or sawmills ,and buy the cull wood .
Beats letting it get burnt up in a brush pile,or go to termite food .
Btw, my furnace hasn't run in years ,other than to make sure that it still works .

Congrats! That is awesome. The way the weather is going this year I doubt you will use as much as you planned for.

Less than half of what was planned. It's mostly black birch which I hate to waste as it is better than oak . Should have harvested some of the big tooth aspen ,and tamarack . I won't make that mistake next year.
As far as what's going on now.... Re watching the LSU / Tide game :smile:
 
Want to come cut the load I have sitting here? Or take the wife away so I can get started on it! I just asked one Amish lady today and may be able to hire her hubby and sons to do it. They were off working in the woods when I was there. She is going along to a plant auction on Friday with the wife and I so I hope to know then if they are available. All the ones that lived close to me with older boys have moved in the past year.

Received a dozen roses, peach, yellow and white, with a little box of chocolates-- delivered to me at the desk today at work, brought back from the gal in the front office.

This came as quite a surprise, considering the person who'd sent them.. I fear I'd broken his heart recently... when all he wanted to do is be my friend.. as he has been for a long time now.
Thank YOU.. my friend. ;)
 
good dinner, spent w/ the fam, also got early company & spent some time chatting on the phone w/ a dear i luv. now i hafta actually snooze as i'm watching my niece all day tomorrow/next day & then my nephews & her later on.
