PORTLAND, OR – Police officers in Portland, Oregon, are still waiting for an apology from Barack Obama after campaign staffers of his recent rally in Portland, Oregon, setup porta potties directly on top of the Portland Police Memorial, which honors the agency’s 25 fallen police officers.

The Obama rally drew a crowd of over 75,000 people.

Officer Thomas Brennan, who was working overtime at the rally, took a picture of the offending toilets, with the American flag still at half mast because of Police Officers Memorial Day, directly behind them. The local law enforcement memorial service had been held at the site only five days earlier.

Despite a large amount of open areas in the vicinity, the campaign staffers claimed the toilets were placed on the memorial for safety reasons to accommodate wheelchair access.

The Obama campaign has not responded to requests for an apology.

I think this kind of contempt is indicative of the left wing supporters that are drawn to Obama. Portland has little respect for it's Police and it is fairly routine for the city council (democrat dominated) to routinely burn police offices at the stake for any issue they can possibly find.

Now tell me the truth, do you really believe Obama or anyone in his staff would be so stupid as to intentionally locate port o lets on a police memorial? Intentionally displaying disdain for dead police officers by pissing on them. Please. Even if, no espically if, they feel this way they would never make that mistake this early in the campaign. Come on, I know you dont really believe it. It was a simple mistake, I bet the staff ordred the toilets and some guy from that company came in and dropped them off. Regarless it was not an intentional dis to teh police. But it can be used as slime.

I went to take my state boards with several hundred women, and no one thought of bathrooms. So there was one small mens room and one small womens room for about 1000 women and me (and a couple of other guys). Maybe about the same thing happened here.

I don't believe they did it intentionally but I DO BELIEVE they didn't care once the issue was brought up. It was reported on our local TV news and some organizer lady basically dismissed the complaint and stated that the location was chosen because it was the most convenient location. She showed no guilt or remorse at the disrespect.

Mistakes happen - so should apologies.

If that "lady" was aware and did not care I am at least as mad as you are at her. I read somewhere eariler today that the campaign has apoligized saying the site was selected for handicap access.
