Been in N. Carolina many times when it snows. If they get a lot it just about shuts things down.
They don't have the equipment in enough quantity to take care of a lot of roads. The worst areas are out near the outer banks where they have No snow clearing equipment. Being from up north folks marvel that I can keep going while they are all over the road. The mountain areas actually got almost as much snow last year as we did up here.

lol, that's how it works out here. The first sign of snow sends everyone to the grocery store where we clean the sheves. Then we go home, stock the wood stove and wait until the evil passes.Been in N. Carolina many times when it snows. If they get a lot it just about shuts things down.
I'm not much for driving the paved roads when is snows because we really don't have enough plows to keep everything clear. And then the snow gods like to toss in that extra thrill that comes when it all turns to ice. So I stay home and play with the dogs and my Kubota.
