It had beeen switched to an electric pump by someone before me . I bought a new one and placed it by the tank as reconmended, I honestly think (and Hope) it is just low on fuel . I do not have the sending unit hooked up yet . I have 5 gallons of new fuel to see if that is my problem. It could also be my filter as the fuel was/ is 3 years old even though I did add an additive to it way back then .Is it the stock mechanical fuel pump Al?
I discoverd a problem in two new after market ones that I had. They are made slightly wrong, and wouldn't work. The trick ended up being the pump push rod. It was not pushing on the lever arm of the pump as it was too short. (in actuallity the push rod was on spec., the pump arm is slightly wrong) I ened up building up the pump rod 1/4" or so on the top and returning to shape on the lathe. Now it works very well.
Like I said I encounted two NEW pumps that were both this way. Out here in the sticks we just have to figure some stuff out for ourselves.
Worth checking out.....
Regards, Kirk

Guess I'll find out in a little bit . Whats the proper PSI on line pressure ?? 5-6 pounds??? This pump shows 2 1/2 pounds .
He doesn't have the Mexican option on it. Just side to side like an old mare.Allen now that the hydraulics are hooked up will ypu post a u tube vid of the front end hopping up and down off the ground like low riders do.
Allen i have a standrad foot feed gas pedal, i also installed a hand throttle, i use for cruse control on those long trips that us snot trac owners dare to do. that way while running i can get up walk to the back make a sandwich than get back behind the steering wheel.
Holy Shit !!! You have a Kitchen in your Snot Trac ? Wonders never cease .
I guess you need something to eat when you are broke down over an extended time and waiting for the Kristi SnowKat Recusers to save your sorry fat butt .
nope never broke down just need food Dad always said if you have a good tool you have to build a shed over it may have waffles tomorrowAllen i have a standrad foot feed gas pedal, i also installed a hand throttle, i use for cruse control on those long trips that us snot trac owners dare to do. that way while running i can get up walk to the back make a sandwich than get back behind the steering wheel.
I have never like the "Jerry Rigged Fuel linkage peddle from Kristi . It looks like something a 2nd grader made .
I think I want something new . How about a thumb throttle like they have on a ATV or a twist one like is on motorcycles?? The more i think about it , the better I like the idea . I could convert the brake handle grips to accept a throttle by making up a Tee handle set up attachment .
Ideals? Suggestions ? Do's or Don'ts??
they might on that Krusty just think of the effects with his mexican option hydraulics and that twist throttle.Twist throttles and porpesing do not go together.
Probably broke the cable or the fork for the throw out bearing. Your gear problem, if it is like the old bugs, is probably a loose or misadjusted rod going to the trans.
Dang ! While attemping to get my linkage on the transmission correct I heard something pop in the clutch housing . Now I got no clutch peddle and I am pretty sure something let go on the throw out bearing . That means I get to pull the motor and find it .So much for running in a couple of weeks . With my foot banged up i can only work a couple hours a day or it swells up too much .
there goes the krusty jinx good thing they made lots of snot tracs to come rescue you when it breaks.
Allen If you needed it i wouuld be there tomorrow. quite honestly i wished i could afford a trip down there to hep you out for a week or two.
When you do the tracks are you making new wood cleats? I would think ash would be a good wood for that.
