Yes. I can't think of anything in my lifetime (I'm 60) comparable to the Kirk memorial. Grok tells me that same stadium hosted a crowd just shy of 68k fans for the 2023 Superbowl, and more than 114 million watched it on various platforms.
Yesterday it was filled to capacity, to the tune of 100k. Another 100k were turned away & funneled into auxiliary sites. Grok can't tell me how many watched online & TV, but I have to believe the numbers are astronomical, given the demonstrations we saw worldwide after the assassination.
I've seen various tiktok libs pontificating how Kirk is too irrelevant to achieve martyrdom. They're wrong.
It remains to be seen if Mrs. Kirk is able to build on what her husband created, and whether the GOP is able to capitalize on it, or squander it like it did with the Tea Party.
