Hiroshima and Nagasaki

I have heard that some of the official estimates for a land invasion of Japan could have been as high as 10 million dead soldiers and civilians.

As soon as war is declared ...the press should be the first to die , if they want to go into a war zone... war is not sweet or friendly or humane...the strong will win , the weak will perish.
Pretty simple to me , but I am a simple man. We do not need bleeding hearts crippling our fighting men and women with rules.
It is like a street fight, no rules ...the one who brings a gun to a knife fight wins!

That was a impressive video . I am very moved by all he said . My Father was in the Navy when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed . He went to one of those cities and I remember him telling me about the destruction and that he had never seen so many burned up bicycles in his entire life . He told me there were 1000's upon 1000's of them .

Did the page open? Once the page opens, it may take a little time for the video to load.

It opens, all the small pix are visible, just a big white space where the video
should be. I think I have some kind of add blocker screwing me up. Not sure
how to disable it.

Link did the same thing. If I go to tools, I can access "Adblock plus preferences".
The answer is in there I think, just not sure what to do. I blocked some adds
in Townhall the other day and probably inadvertently screwed myself.

I'm using firefox, I'll try something else.

OK, that worked, I'm my own worst enemy, LOL.

This is a perfect example of the difference between a television commentator and a true historian. We were at war and unfortunately, innocent people can die when they live in or around military targets.

We look at these events from a contemporary view and it is unfair for anyone to judge our leaders from that time. WWII was the single most deadly conflict in history with an estimated 60 million lives lost and what ever weapon is used to end such a cataclysm can easily be justified.

I love the guys sitting on their nice cozy asses in 2009 passing judgment on guys preparing to invade the Japanese mainland over sixty years ago.
