Hearing aids are now available without a prescription at stores and online nationwide.​

The announcement was revealed on Monday in a “Fact Sheet” from the White House regarding the approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).​

​

“Specifically, today, under a final rule issued by the FDA, adults with mild-to-moderate hearing loss can buy hearing aids at a store or online without a prescription, exam, or audiologist fitting,” the fact sheet said.​

I tried those over the counter hearing aids before I got real ones. I have pretty bad hearing loss from shooting, race cars, and motorcycles. They didnt have the volume that I needed. I sure got tired of saying HUH!!!!!!!

At best, this may well lower the insane prices on high end hearing aids.

I've had mine for over 20 years and it's worked just fine.
Except for the time I left it on the coffee table and Gretchen took it and ran with it.

I think it is very good news for those who are not like to go for the specialist for the recommendation of the hearing aids now they can easily get the hearing aid ..
