Take your pick:
Its my favorite TV show.
I'm a sci-fi geek and this show is considered one of the best sci-shows of all time.
There are pretty girls on the show.
Lots of unusual guns on the show.
Its funny with great dialogue.

I've never heard of the show, honest. I never even saw a single episode of Star Trek either. I guess I'm odd. For some reason I seem to like House and Dirty Jobs.

Dargo I found the show quite by accident, 2 or 3 years after it was cancelled. The fan base is so strong that a couple years after the show was canceled they brought out a full length motion picture to attempt to wrap us some of the story lines, the movie was called "SERENITY" and there is now an attempt to make another movie. The author just released a second series of comic books with new stories, there have been a couple novels, etc.

As for contemporary TV shows, I'll agree with you on HOUSE, add in BONES and occasionally Dirty Jobs.

How could I have missed it????

I can talk to Sushi about Dr Who, I've seen every Star Trek episode and when I turn on the TV, the sci-fi channel is about the first thing I check. I couldn't possibly have missed it. I wonder if they show it down in Texas.

Frank I think there is a very active "Browncoats" chapter in Austin. Browncoats are the firefly fans who organize charity events, have screening parties at theaters (called shindigs) and they even dress up like the characters, go to conventions, etc.

If you check the Sci-Fi channel then you might want to have your eyes checked because you missed the ALL DAY MARATHON 2 days ago that ran 8 or 9 episodes of Firefly!

As I said, I don't watch a whole lot of television anymore. Two days ago I was involved in some political BS that took all day and most of the evening. Plotting a revolution is really time consuming but it is almost over now and hopefully life will return to normal, whatever that is. It's been a long, long haul.

But now that I am a wiser and better informed person I hope to become better aquainted with "Firefly". I really miss those evenings cuddling in front of the TV although I can't get my wife to watch sci-fi. She will watch old Dr Who's though. She's more of a food network groupie.

Being a Sci-Fi geek too, I'm ashamed I never knew it existed until I heard about it from Bob. Still watching for the series to come on a channel I get, though.

Serenity was really good, I thought.

I finally broke down a couple weeks ago and went to Best Buy so I could get the entire series on DVD for $40. since they don't offer cable where I live, I refuse to pay $50-75 a month for satellite, and I only get 4 channels of static on the TV, DVD is my medium of choice...
