Question # 3

WOULD THIS BE COVERED BY HOUSE INSURANCE, CAR INSURANCE,
OR, DOES IT COME UNDER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ???

I don't see any signs before the bridge with a weight limit so in pa the not the drivers fault.

no sign = 80,000 lbs

Erection of signs.--The Commonwealth and local
authorities shall erect or cause to be erected and maintained
restriction signs designating the restrictions within 25 feet of
each end of a bridge or portion of highway restricted as
provided in subsection (a) or (b). In the case of a restriction
on a bridge or on a highway which does not begin or end at an
intersection with an unrestricted highway, the Commonwealth or
local authorities shall also place an advance informational sign
at the intersection nearest each end of the restricted bridge or
portion of highway which would allow drivers to avoid the
restricted bridge or portion of highway. No person shall be
convicted of violating subsection (a) or (b) unless the
restriction sign designating the restricted bridge or portion of
highway to traffic moving in the direction the person was
driving was posted as required in this subsection. However,
failure to post the restriction sign designating the restricted
bridge or portion of highway to traffic moving in the opposite
direction or failure to post any advance informational sign
shall not constitute a defense to a violation of this section.

Unfortunately I learned in the late 70' this lesson, it wasn't fun being in court
and this isn't me in the picture!

Open both ends, a little flooring and no harm done, we have a new covered bridge.
Pure genius! Now try to get the county to accept ownership. I'm not sure it would pass the architectural review board, or it just might start a new fad. If they could have distributed the weight over a few more sets of wheels, they might have gotten away with it.

Don't turn it into a covered bridge. Cut a hole in the living room floor and you can fish from the comfort of your recliner. Wouldn't that be cool?

#5) Isn't this the perfect redneck version of Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water"?

a \few more sets of wheels would have likely made the bridge formula work out i'm guessing it was moving with out a permit because when moving any over sized load you must a file a trip plan to go with the permit so the states athourity can reveiw the route to ensure thhat your load will fit and not damage the road

I would think with a deck overlooking the creek, it would make a nice touch!

Heck, you got a driveway at both ends!

The only thing that would bother me with the house over the water is having all that running water would make me have to pee all the time!

You know, those trailer houses are pretty cheap and not that heavy, if it broke the bridge with that weight, they may have saved a school bus or some other type of disaster from happening and nobody is going to be the wiser....

Foggy Thats not a trailer house or mobile home I dont beleive . They dont transport anything that size unless its in two pieces as far as I know . It looks to me like a site built home that they were moving to a different site & the movers had no clue what they were doing . :hammer:

Even an idiot would not think a non steel suported bridge would hold the stress of that weight , not to mention the weight would have been much better distributed by any experienced house mover .

goes back to my idea they were flying under the radar with no permits there will be some big citations written up if that was the case. also i hope the driver studdied for his piss test i'm betting that was the first order of buisness when the enforcement people arrived
