Could Someone Suggest Easy Photo Program

I'm working or attempting to work on a website I'm trying to build. The current photo tools I have change the format where it's no longer web compatible. Installed and uninstalled three different programs today that I was unable to achieve desired results with. There's got to one out there that's not to complicated, hopefully free and I can get desired results. Is there anyone willing to share a good link.
P.S. tried the one I found on another thread here and ether I'm to ignorant to use it which I tried. Or it's incapable of doing what I need.

MS Paint. It came with your computer. It will reformat to most 'common' types, resizes, allows for cropping and simple editing.

I tried paint and could'nt find any good cropping tools. Put them into word and made the pictures just like I wanted and then couldn't use them for it changed the format to a doc ext. and then couldn't upload to the site. Word would be perfect if it didn't change the file.

I use paint for converting files and it works slick.
If you have Vista.
Click open (right hand corner).
Click MS Pict. Mgr this also does a good job.

If you have Office, I'll second darroll on Picture Manager being good for cropping, contrast enhancing, compressing, ect.

Irfanview is pretty simple to use, I'm not sure if it handles everything you want to do, but pretty sure it's still free.

However, if you need to go beyond that and want free: Gimp doesn't seem too bad. I've just used it a little, but seems pretty intuative.

That is a start to your problem. But if you really need to edit them in Word, it is able to save a page as an HTML document.

I want to thank everyone for there suggestions. I forced through a few and made them work. There's got to be a easier way, but then I've still got a lot to learn about puters. Going to check out a few more of your suggestions in near future. I could'nt find the HTML in word but then I've been going through so many screens I admit I've confused myself if any of you can relate to that. If you would like to see the ones I've been arguing with they are the faded in ones on two pages of this site. http://www.pontoonhouseboatodyssey.com/

Take a look if you can find the time and I'm open to constrative criticism and suggestions. Hoping to make it a good informative site for those who find it and looking for general good boating information.

I've never did any web pages but if the need is to get it to a HTML format, can't (or won't) it let you do the following?

In Word, do whatever you have to do to insert the pictures (as you're doing now).

On the tool bar, click "File", "Save As" and use the drop down for "Save as Type", and change it to HTML?

I third the vote for MS picture manager. I don't like generating HTML with word, unless there's a handy copy of Dreamweaver to clean up the HTML afterwards. ;)

I had no idea that dealing with pictures was going to be that complex. I've still have a lot to learn about computers. And the more I use them the more I realize how little I know. In this instance though they were good pictures for what I wanted though to large. I did not see putting in a excessive amount of sky and or water for it really did not contribute to the picture. And I'm wanting to use good photo's like a banner to what may or will be a topic change and still contribute the the quality of overall site. So much to learn yet and still allowing the world watch my mistakes. If MS had all of features tied into one program they sure would have one nice picture manager to work with though.

I use Paint and PhotoStudio to size the pictures for my website. The PhotoStudio version is like 2002 or something like that, but it works great.
I also use Nvu to create my web pages, it's free as long as you put their logo on there. I insert a picture that's been cropped for content and then can re-size it right in Nvu. Then FTP it right to the website. Nvu is an awesome web page software. Their website is here.

The best easy photo software I've found is Picasa, version 3 is current. The best photo editing software is Gimp. both JMHO

Good too see someone else using Gimp!

BTW, Howdy xsinawl! Any chance you can start thread in introductions? Don't think I saw anything about you.
