CNN's Glen Beck gone missing?

One of the best shows on CNN was/is the Glen Beck show.

He is irreverent, and a breath of fresh air on that usually liberal leaning network. His communication skills are excellent, if you enjoy a dose of sarcasm. But he's not on any more? At least I can't find the show.

Anyone know where Glen Beck is and why he is off the air?

Lame move on CNN's part to let him get away. He was / is against Obama. I wonder if that had anything to do with pulling him a few weeks before the election?

He was pulled because he announced his new contract with FOX. Would you let an employee continue who has already announced his departure for a competitor?

If anything, I'd say it was a lame move on Glen Beck's part to not wait until after the election to make the announcement. Although I would probably guess he will show up on FOX on election night as a "Special Host".

Well that sure would be a good reason to pull him off the air. Still, you have to wonder why CNN let him slip away. He was anti-everything that appeared most other broadcasts by CNN/HNN so he gave them some cover from the critics who claimed that CNN and HNN are biased liberal media sources. They have now lost that. And from what I gather he was very popular, so one could only presume that if his show was popular they would be getting in more advertising revenues.

FOX, on the other hand, doesn't need him. It moves them further to the right.

So in this move, CNN goes farther left and FOX goes farther right. I guess that is some sort of balance :rolf2:

If that employee ran a show that was a highlight of our broadcasting presence yep, I think I would leave him on.

Agreed. Beck's own stock could have gone up considerably had he been allowed to stay on the air. Perhaps he wanted to keep it a secret, but some=times secrets get out. CNN's reaction seems like they were blindsided.

Good points Bob. While Beck was a bright spot for CNN over at Fox he'll just be another talking head. :bonk:

I am not sticking up for Glen Beck, nor CNN nor Fox but I will tell you typically what happens in the Corporate World when an employee tells his boss he is leaving to go to the competitor.

They usually are out the door. As an owner of a business I had to learn that the hard way a long time ago. As honest as you think one is they are not.
