What year Packard is that? What motor is in it? Top speed?

All of these beautiful cars on here and not a single Hudson, I'm gonna put an end to this travesty. Here is my 1949 Hudson Super Six (in 1951 it was renamed the Hudson Hornet after winning consistently in the early years of stock car racing, after all you need a strong name when your winning races).
This 1949 Hudson was my grandfather's car which he bought new. It is all original and mostly unrestored. I have rebuilt the Radiator, heater core, fuel pump, cleaned the carburetor (rebuild kit not required luckily), repaired the vacuum wiper motor, replaced the brake master cylinder, rebuilt all the brake slave cylinders, rebuilt the rear end and replaced the fender skirts. It is a work in progress.

Here are some other facts about particular car:
  • It has traveled around Europe including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Spain
  • It narrowly missed sinking on the SS Andrea Doria in 1956. (Yes there is a story here)
  • Both sets of original keys with leather dealer pouch.
  • Original 1949 locking gas cap with keys still in dealer pouch.
  • Original Owners Manual.
  • Book “How to double the performance of your car”.
  • Original spare tire with hub cap.
  • Original wire harness (needs replaced)
  • Liquid cork “wet” clutch system.
  • Original can for “Hudsonite Clutch fluid”, and various other vintage oil and fluid cans.
  • “Automatic” overdrive (optional, included) changes at 29 MPH (+ or -) (still working too)
  • Second glove box (behind the steering wheel (optional, not included)
  • No radio (optional, not included).
  • No blinkers or emergency flashers (optional, not included).
  • No back up lights (optional, not included).
  • No “automatic windshield washer” (optional, not included)
  • Light behind Hudson-Terraplane emblem on hood.
  • Original license plates from California 1963, Wyoming 1982, 1992 (centennial), 2001, 2002, 2025, and now has Pioneer plates.

It is a "barn queen" and shows up at car shows in southern Wyoming randomly, keep an eye out for it.

NICE!!!!! How much does it weigh (it looks like it's built like a tank). How fast will it go, or could it go in it's prime?

Hudson cars weighed in at a modest 3600 lbs, the max speed question is loaded, as that depended on the options picked. But usually it was around 90 MPH. The 0 to 60 time was about 17 seconds. They normally had 210 torque and 121 HP.
