BANG!

Oh my!
I just lost power for about 5 minutes and heard a bang at the same time.
Could be an accident on US 30 or 66 very near here.
Hearing sirens going out in the distance.

I think it may have been an accident, someone hitting a pole.
Jim who lives next door is with the FD and he went racing out of his driveway.

You'll be fine snapper-haed.
It's not ME I am worried about.
This is a small town and I know a lot of people.
I'll be sure to post anything related to this tomorrow morning from the local papers if indeed it's what I think happened.
Could have been anything really.
When sirens blare after something occurs, then you hear nothing else after, sometimes it's not a good thing.

Rrrrr, she be a "Fresh Water" pirate girl... there be a lot of looting going on in them Great Lakes for years now....

Yes, there was an accident last evening according to my neighbours who heard it as well.
It was the morning curbside conversation.
Jim wasn't home when I took the dog for a walk this morning.
Guess I'll have to read about it in the paper I buy later (the real paper) as there is nothing I can find about it online.

Anyway.. Monte!!:hammer:

You heard a Bang and started a thread about it?

Hmmm just wait until I talk to you again Rc Cola:yum:...:hammer:
Actually, it was a power pole that was hit on Bredeick St.
No one was seriously injured but they had to replace the pole this morning.
I passed by there on my way to McD's for coffee.
The yellow police tape was still lying on both sides of the street with the guys up on a cherry picker.
Situation normal in this tiny hamlet at this hour.

That was my next guess.:yum:
6th and 7th street are waaaaaaaaaay across town:yum:.. like ummm 3 minutes away?
Remember buddy, this entire city is the size of a postage stamp.
One horse town, the total area is under 3 square miles.
My hairdresser knows more about me than my own Mother for God's sakes!
joking, but you get the idea.

I do believe your town is larger then my town PG. We don't even have a grocery store anymore. Since Wal-Mart built in the next town over i doubt any will ever go in again. Since i actually live smack dab in the middle of both towns it's no big deal to me. My town is only 1,400 people and i think that was the same population 40 years ago.

If the boy scouts are taking over the Peltier estate, what will be left.....

....a junction?

--> me :slap: <-- me
Mr. and (Mrs. Peltier) apparently donated that land in their will to be made into a scouting ground as a park.
Right now it's undergoing clearing and has been for quite some time.
We used to ride bikes along the path inside the wooded area just west of it called "Devil's Hill".
Mr. Peltier had his observatory on the grounds when I was a kid.
Our brownie troop took a tour of the house and grounds when I was around 6 or so.
I think the observatory is either down in Wapakoneta at the Armstrong museum or in Washington. Not sure.
After Dottie passed away, I went by that place on a night when the brightest and biggest full moon was showing (recently).
It was the most lovely thing I'd ever witnessed.

I've been Googling junction/Peltier as I am composing this.
Yes.. you deserve a thwack.:yum:
