What are you doing today, II

This afternoon around 2pm, I was coming back from the grocery store.
This guy in a car was flying up and down the street nearly hitting others in the traffic lane.
I saw him hit a beam that runs in front of one of our muffler shops.

I drove up there and waited while others stopped and started gathering around.
I could see him raising his head off the steering wheel and it was covered in blood.
I'm pretty sure he had a seizure at the wheel.

Another person said "I got this, then said I'm calling 911".
I said tell them there is a nurse on the scene.

This is the 3rd time in my life where I've been a first responder.
-Back in 2006 at the mall in Lima, Ohio when a person had a heart attack and I started CPR.
- Then a road accident out on Elida road outside of Delphos.

Needless to say, today left me a bit shaken.

Nurses don't always have that preparation.
Today I didn't really, but I'm glad I was there.
All things considered.
I have his details to check on his condition through my friends at Henry County emergency services.

I've told a few of my nurse friends and family members about this.
Ty said Mom, this doesn't surprise me, I'm proud of you.
Jeff called me a hero.
Nope!
God wanted me to be there.
GOOD GOING!!!

I have an service 4 wheel drive light on in our blazer I traced it down to open wire but havent found the break :(
It must have had the issue before because the wire has probe marks at the actuator motor plug that corroded through, I got replacement plug put it in today and still have the issue its staying locked in 4WD. I had brain storm got my new scan tool out dis assembled the motor spun the gears until it went in to 2WD re assembled the motor checked the scan tool still in 2WD!!! Put it back together drives correctly now still has the DTC code for the open wire but it will save gas at least. Tomorrow I'll dig in to the broken wire problem

It's been a breezy, beautiful day here.
Yes, I took my usual walk through the park.
Went shopping, came home..yadda yadda..
My neighbour kid Leo, works at the Campbell's plant.
As I'm going out to the curb to get my mail, I heard hey Ms Loralei do you like alfredo?

Of course I do.
So he takes a wrapped case of 6 jars of Prego Alfredo sauce out of the trunk of his car.
I thanked him, even though I'm not a fan of Prego lol
He had like 5 other cases, which I believe he also gave to Dr. Lantzy, April and any other neighbour who were willing to accept them.

Campbell's has a store which Veterans and employees and their families can have what's available in the warehouse.
I'm going to donate mine to a local food pantry.
The End

I'm going to take all that Alfredo sauce to my church's food pantry, but I've got to wait until Tuesday morning or evening because that's the only time anyone is there to receive.
🤷‍♀️

Before you waste your money

Go to the filling station and see what the fellas are using. My setup cost me under $10 hose included. Remember these are country folks using this station .
I finally got around to making it there to see what I need. I bought a new garden hose as well as I needed one at home.

What am I doing today? Changing the water in my hot tub.

Just to add to that. That's what I came up with on a whim taking a look at it and going to home depot. Then a guy showed up with a matching tote to mine in his truck. He got out and hauled out a sump pump hose and hose clamp. Quick and easy and he was done before me. I had one at home. Oh well. Next time.

Well its not tomorrow but im going to bypass the chassis wires with new ones got wire this morning to do it sunday
today we were smelling gas on our new suburban I got my scan took out (topdon topscan) to see what's going on
vent solenoid has an open wire ill have to climb under it to see what's going on before i spend 100 on a new one.
this scanner was about 80$ one year free updates it also does bidirectional control (it can turn on and off stuff to test the devices)
it will be 50$ a year for updates or 100$ for pro updates and trouble shooting data, I don't know which one I will buy but its worth it so far not having to buy parts that i think are bad but still work and find the real problem.

That is what I use . A sump pump hose with a hook on the end. Drop the hook in the tote and slip the other end on the nozzle of the filling station. 1 1/4 hose slips right on. carry a bit of electrical tape with you to hold it on the filling nozzle.

I was just talking to my buddy who also wants to use the tote to fill his tub. I spent 2 hrs waiting for it to gravity drain with a garden hose at home. He has an electric transfer pump that hooks to a garden hose. Now he tells me. 😆 That would have made it quicker to drain.

Remember that 1 1/4 hose I suggested you to get to fill the tank? Buy an adapter to fit it to the tank outlet. Takes me about 20 mins tops using the same hose I fill the tank with to drain the tank.

Will do. Just learning what I need to get set up. I picked up a tote last fall AFTER I paid $200 for water delivery and then subsequently had to drain the water less than a week later to change a pump. Then it took a week to refill using the house tap as the well wasn't happy. So this was the first time actually going to the station and filling the tote. I'll get it figured out. Thx

Up at 5:30am, drove to Purdue University, I invited an Olympian to come in to lead an all day fencing clinic. Mostly I took photos but I'm exhausted. He worked the fencers hard. I'm sure there will be sore muscles. I had a few students from my club, plus the Purdue University team, plus a carload from the Indiana University team that drove up to our campus. Heck of a day.

It's Sunday. Our full-time minister retired after 17 years 3 years ago and we've been with fill-ins since then. Today is the first day for our new full-time minister. My wife and I are excited as he was originally the organist for our church for 5 years. He played our wedding and left shortly afterward. We hadn't heard about him for years then were totally shocked when it was announced that he was being ordained and taking over. His first service is this morning so we're going to it. This afternoon I plan on working on the sxs trying to diagnose why my fan isn't kicking in. New thermostat and sensors. My buddy is going to diagnose it. I'm at a loss.

Church at 8:00am.

Played with Kobe. Old school Thomas the train wooden tracks and a child's imagination.

Cut some crown moulding for Melen's master bathroom in her condo, I will be installing it tomorrow.

Drinking bourbon and relaxing this evening.

At one point we still had a tote full of those tracks. I remember covering our entire basement with a track setup.

Working in the shop doing some machine work for whet will be my last project in business, Ca, finally got off its ass and got it done, the lisence transfer will be done within 2 days according to there Email

Finish repairs on the south gable where squirrels ate a hole that let in the weather. Ruined one bedroom ceiling. That repair is for next winter.
Then, engineer the ability to move a huge limestone boulder into the pond rehab project. 20 Years ago I picked this rock up and placed it. Yesterday, I could barely pick up one end.
Times change.

Well, I got the big rock moved. Leveraged it up onto my 4-wheel hand truck (with big tires) and maneuvered it into the back yard.
I am not ready to set it yet. That area is not ready. It's Okay where it sets because I know I cannot pick it up again today.
I am guessing full weight about 150 lbs. How I placed it 20 years ago, I do not remember.
But I know I had no help so I must have done it alone.
Just like now, I'll engineer a way.(y)
Tomorrow. :whistling:

For right now, I'm taking a coffee break.

Not much today. Puttered about the house and the garden most of the day. No errands to run today.

But this evening I'll be at Purdue University coaching the fencing club. My season officially started Saturday with an all day clinic at Purdue. Yesterday I was University of Illinois coaching them at their Chicago campus. The remainder of this week will be at my club.

So, I get that big rock out of the way. And then start to dig the hole for a massive flowering crab tree I have in a large wooden pot.
Guess what??? There are two more big rocks underneath.
Keep in mind 20 years ago I placed these rocks for decorative effect.

One was about 90 -100 lbs. The other was as big as the first one.
OH-BOY!!!

I am beat.

That said, these are all St. Peter's Limestone. Smooth curves and rounded edges. Much like the stone cliffs at Starved rock State Park in northern Illinois. Beautiful stuff.

I started the day off working on the fifth wheel camper furnace for a few minutes looking at how to change the igniter. That's a project for tomorrow. Today is dump day. I had the truck pinned up to the bigger flat deck trailer so I unpinned and hooked up to the 12ft flat deck for a garbage run. It has 4ft rails on the sides. I had it piled to the top. I'm still cleaning up the rubble from the demolition over the summer. In the afternoon I took our youngest son in to write his driver's license test. He now has a learning permit. I took him for his first lesson on the way home. Fresh walleye for supper then a 1 hr appointment online. I'm tired.

Life has a way of kicking a guy square in the nuts to slow him down. I had all these great plans today to finally get down to the garage to clean up. I went to the truck to start it and click click nothing. Full lights and everything. Battery tested ok. But I still put a charger on it for good measure. I even went as far as swapping out the battery for another. I suspect the starter is shot as last week it made a whine and turned over way longer than normal without catching. My neighbor is coming over after work to help try and jump it once more to get it over to his shop down the road. He's a mechanic. I did get the garage clean enough to drive into though.

It's the starter. We gave it a tap as I turned the key and it started so I drove it over to their shop to deal with. I also managed to get the winch changed on the sxs. I installed a new one last fall and it didn't last the winter plowing snow. Thankfully the controls for the other one worked so it was a quick swap.
