Man, a warning from Big Dog because I spoke my opinion on a popularity contest were people are joking on how they are voting time and time again, then I read where CB is on a short rope for some remarks that he made on another thread that was deleted.

Do I have to fear that this thread will be deleted?

Kind of dumb asking if I want my own comments deleted. Believe it or not, I can do that myself.

OK... I will agree that we were all makin jokes over there, I was too. The real problem is that it should be in the open forum as was suggested. It WAS getting a little out of hand, but was not terrible yet. I think the mods were right in askin to tone it down some. Is it possible to still move it?
 
You havent seen anything! I went on a cooking site called discusscooking.com and asked about Emril loosing his show, then I posted a *gasp* photo of a waterfall and was givin a MAJOR lashing from the admins!!!!! I'll post what they said later. Its freakin nuts.

If anyone sees an offending post please use that little triangle to report the post and the FF mods will jump into action.
We are trying to be sure FF is a friendly place for all to enjoy.

If myself or a mod see a thread in an inappropriate forum we will move it and leave a redirect. It was discussed that the thread might be in the wrong forum but in this case it is about 'family issues' which is part of what the Seriously Speaking forum is for. I feel that is a call that should be up to the poster. PigTails put it where she wanted it. That's where it will stay unless PT wants it moved. Many threads on here fit multiple forums. Most of the time we leave it where the original poster put it unless they request that it be moved.

I guess that's the difference with me and other people. If I'm upset at them, I'll tell them what I think. No need crying to mommy and daddy.

I think it's important for you to remember where the "Debate and Discussion" forum is. You get a lot more leeway to express your free speech in that forum than the others. The "Seriously Speaking" forum is generally where abrasiveness is not going to be tolerated at all - even if you think the thread is not "serious".

I think we (moderators) are just trying to clean up some of the attitude that has spilled over from the Debate and Discussion forum as of late.

DZ, if you aren't going to pay attention to the "rules" then there will be consequences for your actions. I think we give a lot of leeway here as far as what you can get away with but persistent abrasiveness will result in moderation. Just as in the real world there are places where you can get away with it and places where it will be frowned upon.

And yes, I'm not perfect and I have screwed up in the past. I hope I've learned from my past attitude but I may screw up again. I hope Big Dog, Doc, and maybe even Bob will not hesitate to remind me when I screw up.

To DZ or anyone else on the forum who disagreed with this thread, you had the choice to vote or not vote or even to vote for someone other than Kristy. No one was twisting your arms to vote but only asking for your consideration of her. We (my family) thought it might be of some interest to some of the members and after reading the bios of all five gals they would agree Kristy was the best candidate for the title and vote accordingly.

DZ, I have no animosity or hard feelings toward you or anyone else on the forum. But when my family is openly attacked by any member with false accusations and untruths such as those that you kept insinuating that we (the family) condone multiple voting and other bs we will return the favor. We never asked for the thread to be closed by the moderators or any help from them. Again your insinuation above in bold strikes me that you are not over it yet. Are you a person that needs to just keep poking when your cause is lost? I will not respond to anymore of your cutting sly remarks posted to offend me or my family and take the heat away from the real problem which was you and your posts in that seriously speaking thread.

Your absolutly right. Most of my disagreement was with the other people on that thread (particularly PBinWA) who kept insinuating that you can cast mulitple votes and that there was nothing wrong with it.

I also mentioned that nothing was said to contradict the "comments" about mulitple voting until that issue was brought up by myself.

If I missed anything, apologies.

Apologies accepted DZ. I will even give you rep points for being big enough to apologize in a public forum. :thumb: Sometimes, maybe the drummer needs to just play a different tune and this could also apply to me.

Now the girls in the family may take a little longer to accept your apology but that is just the gals way of handling things. They will come around in time, as I have learned through many hard lessons by living with one of them for 40+ years and raising the other one for 35 years. :yum:
 
I hope this forum doesn't end up like that 'other' one where everyone fears bannishment for the slightest remark. I didn't think SnoOps was taking an excessive amount of ribbing (compared to what he's given) over his 'tin hat' escapade and I don't think he complained (he's been very busy doing a 4-letter word recently). But maybe I missed a deleted post. Of course the seriously speaking type of threads should be off limits to smart arse comments, though.

I have used the little red triangle thingy twice in the (almost) year I've been poking around here. One was for that Feathered1/Bird character who threatened Junkman. Talk about hippocracy, what would Bird have done on the 'other' site where he's a mod if a member did such a thing?! Here he was merely scolded and didn't suddenly disappear. :yum:
