Don't know if any of you visit this military site, but there is about nine hours left to bid on this. It is too far for me out on the East Coast, but it looks pretty good, current bid is 7,000.00. I normally would bid on something like this if it was in Alaska and would have given a heads up a bit sooner, but I missed it this last week... but this is a really nice deal for someone.

Looks like there is hardly any use on this rig...

Well, We are Bidding on it at this time Called and talked with them the guy We spoke with said it does not run as it is may need battery or more he was not sure If we won it were planning to fly there and get it running to load if possible. otherwise it is a winch and go machine. could not tell me anything
and of course they will not assist in any way. not sure how high we will go 10,000,15,000,20,000 not knowing it is hard to say......... :thumb:

Well for what it is worth, every time I bid on something like that, it is in pretty good shape. They always say that it is for scrap so they don't have any liability on it. I would bet a cup of coffee with a battery and gas it will run....

Good Luck

Are you saying someone bought it?
$18,000 is a HUUUUUUGE amount of money for this thing if all it is, is a toy to play around with. I could see spending that amount if folks would use it daily as a utility. Or maybe to haul folks so they could make money off of it.

Sushi clearly your priorities are totally screwed up. Spending $18,000 for toys to play in the snow is just a drop in the bucket compared to the investment needed to restore and operate this thing, especially if you figure that some of us build whole garages just to house these things out of the summer weather! It takes a truly insane person to love, restore and run snowcats. Welcome to the biggest asylum on the internet!

That is still cheap for the condition it is in. If you could buy a new one, you can figure that $150,000.00 for that would be about the starting price. The last ones the military bought in the early '80s was about $129,000.00 or so....of that model....

My wife tells me I have a compulsive snow cat disorder and suggests that I get professional help. I just tell her to hop back on her broom, fly away and leave me and my snow cats alone....:shitHitFan:

My priorities are fine. It is my wife and others in this world that do not have snow cat fever that have major mental and physiological problems and need help. I am fine fine fine fine fine...I think I think I think.
