Does anybody have a idea what this little contraption is ?
My first guess is that it's a pea sheller of some sort >>>>

I think pea shellers have a set of knives to slit open the hull before they pass through the roller. Plus, those rollers don't look like they move away from each other, which indicate to me that they would squash the peas before ejecting them.

Are you sure it has to do with food?

Not a duck (feather) plucker, those have rubber fingers and typically only one rotating cylinder instead of two.
