TUCKER TORPEDO Restore

Any updates from the summer?

Unfortunately...there will be no more updates on this restore.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer a little over a year ago, and after all the treatments, and operations over the past year it has made me just too weak physically and mentally to continue this restore to my standards.

So to make a long story short I no longer own the Torpedo or my 542 Tucker, somebody else hopes to restore them now.

Once I get back to my normal self, I hope to get that enthusiasm back to do another restore. But till then, I will hope my doctors know what there doing.

Kevin

I am truly sorry to hear that. I hope that all goes well and your doctors do know what they are doing. I have a few family members that have had cancer and beat it! It can be done hang in there and stay positive!

Wish you Well

Anthony

Weatherby,As you rest and heal, know that you are thought of warmly and wished a quick recovery.and when your well I think you should come over
And chase some of those northern grouse we have talked about. Consider
That inspiration for getting better, take care

Just take as much time as you need . WE will always leave a light on . Your Restorations have delighted and taught other snow catters in this group that nothing is impossible .
I tip my hat to you sir !

Now then . Go take care of Weatherby .

Allen

That is terrible news. Certainly not what I was expecting to hear. Like the others have stated, keep fighting and take it one day at a time.

Hopefully the Tuckers are still somewhat close so that you can at least provide your sound advice to get them returned to the condition you were striving for.

You and Mtn-Track have been the inspiration for the rest of us to not just jam it back together and run it until it breaks. Take the time to go thru the equipment, make it as good or better than new so it will provide another 40 years of service.

Again, one day at a time, and hoping for a speedy recovery (and to read more on here from you in the near future).

David

Take care of yourself and get better Kevin, May God bless you and your family.

Kevin,

I'm deeply saddened by your illness and wish you a complete recovery. As Dave said, you've been an inspiration to many of us.

If you feel up to it, please visit the forum and keep us updated. I think it's fair to say you are revered here.

Kevin,
You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. May Gods hand place the healing to you and give peace to all in the family. I've been blessed by your posts and find myself learning something new everytime I re-read your work of arts.
John

sorry to here about that, hope you get to feeling better. always enjoyed your restorations ,when you get better maybe you could finnish up Big Als kristie for him so we will stop giving him a bad time.

Have finally come to the worst part of restoring which is the pontoons. Fiberglass work is slow. Can only work one side per night and it usually takes two nights per side.

Will be done the front two soon and will restore the last two with spare I have and swap them out when done. This way I can at least use it if the snow ever comes.

I would like to thank the forum and all of my friends who have pitched in on this restore. Without my network of dozens of friends who have access to everything I need to get this done it would not be possible. The speed at which I am able to turn this thing around is because of them and my wife who has been has been studying for her CPA at night which is why I have so much time. Also thanks to my son who faithfully goes to bed at 7 pm everynight allowing me to have Tucker Time!

Something about a Tucker brings people together. That and beer!
